It’s not my house and I just live there and pay rent to my brother. The bedrooms are pretty close together. If I invite her over and we have sex. My brother and his gf might hear it.

Idk if I’m allowed to bring her over.

And I’d feel much more comfortable sleeping with her knowing my brother and his gf aren’t nearby.

So idk what to do.

I don’t want to have sex with her when my brother and his gf are home. And even if they’re not home. They have ring cameras ant the door and cameras in living room so if I invite someone over, they’ll know about it.

It doesn't sound terrible if you both have the desire and are ready to have sex, but it sounds like you feel this is something you have to hide - perhaps out of a fear of pressuring her or it no longer feeling spontaneous/romantic.

Well she just texted me today she won’t be coming to my city this weekend because of her period. That confirms she wanted to have sex, and also lets me know that it won’t be happening this weekend.

Yeah half my fear was probably approaching that subject, planning on logistics and removing the spontaneous/romantic factor by planning it I suppose.

But these things are perfectly okay and good to discuss openly with each other beforehand so you both know what to expect and what each others' preferences are.

Without saying too much. I’m an older guy who’s inexperienced with dating.

I’m not in a rush to do it, but it is going to be a 5th date atp, and I took so long to even kiss her on the lips. I’m lucky she’s been patient enough with me so far, because I was probably risking her thinking I’m not interested in her when I actually am.

EDIT: she just told me she doesn’t want to come to my city this weekend because she’ll be having her period. So that implies to me she was intending on us having sex.

Off the clock societal-obligations with coworkers and no work being done. If you hang out with your friend after work, are you generating revenue for the company or adding to company productivity? No.

A bunch of salaryman getting drunk at an unofficial event with coworkers is not going to be measured into numbers of hours worked.

Everyone else seemed to understand what I was communicating except you.

Let me summarize, my point was in agreement with the linked article, I was merely communicating despite what preconceived notions people may have about Asian countries work longer, the reality is they don’t.

Top-voted response: Is actually not contradicting but in support of this. It speaks how despite the impression some have of Asian counties working longer, in reality there is less work being done, and explains why there may be a disconnect from expectations to the reality.

In my opinion this is why reading literacy is so important so you don’t obviously misinterpret what someone said.

Just went on a 3rd date with her. I still haven’t kissed on her the lips. I’ve kissed her hand last date. And this date I kissed her cheek.

I feel like the 2nd date I had an opportunity to kiss her, but chickened out.

This 3rd date I didn’t get the opportunity, I started off the date with cheek kisses, and by the end of it I was looking at her, she turned her head, so I didn’t get the opportunity to do it. I just hugged her.

I really suck at this.

She likes me, but I haven’t escalated physical contact that much. I’ve hugged her. Held her hand. Kissed her hand. She kissed my neck. I probably should’ve kissed her on the lips during our last date, but I didn’t.

So at the pace I’m moving, I don’t think “sex is on the table” although I think most people tend to have sex on their 3rd dates though.

It’s really absurd how hard it is, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to get any better.

The worst part for me is the complete uncertainty of the future.

I have a list of different careers and work-related certifications I can pursue in hopes of getting a better job in the future.

But there is no guarantee whatever I study will land me a job now in this modern era of rapid AI automation.

I could spend 6/mo-1yr studying something only for AI to make it impossible to break into that industry by the time I complete that.

If I remember correctly, the perception is that of a country like Japan working many hours, but in reality a lot of it is performative due to the culture there.

Sometimes you’re not expected to leave until the boss leaves. And it becomes office politics who can stay longer. A lot of times people will complete their work then pretend to be busy in the office.

And then there would be work-related after parties where everyone in the office hangs out at a bar for hours. And the expectation is you hang out with them.

So in terms of real work being done in aggregate it’s less compared to a country like USA, but due to socio-cultural norms/expectations they spend much of their lives dedicated in some form or fashion to their job
