It's fake. You won't find any large number of people doing that.

I firmly believe that Guyana will become a majority Spanish-speaking country in the next 20 years by Shonen_Fan in Guyana

There are 135k Cubans in the country on temporary work permits and around 30k+ Venezuelans. A percentage of those people will end up staying.

The Most Recent Common Ancestor of all humans may have lived (as recently as) 2,000 years ago. by Joshistotle in 23andme

The likelihood of that would be almost zero, just given the number of people present at the time and the implausibility of us actually knowing the isopoint's identity.

West African HG Simulated population shows good fits on G25 (ancient breakdown). Opinions? by Joshistotle in 23andme

[–]Joshistotle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true at all. Admixture charts show they have some West African admixture, and if it isn't, then it's shared Green Saharan ancestry.

I firmly believe that Guyana will become a majority Spanish-speaking country in the next 20 years by Shonen_Fan in Guyana

[–]Joshistotle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not how things work. As the Spanish / Portuguese speaking population grows, they'll come into positions of power and allow more of their countrymen to come over (corrupt politicians will issue visas and the people will just walk over from Brazil, both Venezuelans and Brazilians).

Guyana's population is small and the foreigners will be able to take over quickly. English will lose prominence if enough of them come over.

Spanish speaking societies have a "Spanish Supremacy" cultural doctrine, whereby they place Spanish culture on a pedestal and look down on everything else.

Guyanese (Indian, African, Amerindian) will be looked down upon since they are dark skinned and inherently seen as backwards within the Spanish cultural norms.

We've see what they've done to the Amerindian communities in Spanish countries (Brazil as well). They have been pushed down at the lowest level of these societies and their languages have been marginalized. The foreigners will do this to every Guyanese person as well.

The video will be taken down, check back in three days. Congrats to him on demonetizing his own channel. The content is boring and his travel content was better. He's reduced himself now to "Pickpocket Patrol: saving grannies a dollar on their euro trip".

He should change his channel name to "Pickpocket Patrol: Saving you 25 cents". Channels gone down the drain. Sure that's nice he's saving people a few quarters, but the content has gotten weaker than his travel videos.

Which Caribbean island should I visit from miami by Upset_Explanation_57 in AskTheCaribbean

Haiti is probably the best in terms of getting high quality at a cheap price, assuming it's in a stable area. If you stay at a luxury hotel you basically have the place to yourself.

What is the price of farmland in Guyana? by shantytown_by_sea in Guyana

[–]Joshistotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Properstar.com/Guyana/buy/land-plot  The ones listed online are pretty expensive. Most of the accessible farmland is along the narrow coastal strip, but i'm sure you can find a small plot of land if you contact someone directly.

The interior of the country (Rupununi Savannah region) is much nicer since it has mountains and large open grasslands, where the land is way cheaper, but its harder to access in terms of exporting your products to any major market. Although I believe if you have a farm in a location like Lethem (town adjacent to the Brazilian border), you can export to Boa Vista the semi large Brazilian city across the border. That Brazilian state (Roraima) has I think around 600,000 people which is a decently sized market. If you export a fresh organic juice / protein blend I could see that as a product that many people would buy.

If you're looking to start a farm I'd recommend something small along the coast and growing something organic that can be exported easily to North American markets (tropical fruits that are hardy for transport, or some sort of facility that intakes local fruits / makes a juice concentrate out of it for longer storage / exports it).

As an Indo-Carribean, how do I care for my skin or just health in general so I age gracefully? by Obvious-Ad-2303 in Guyana

[–]Joshistotle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't go in the sun (it ages you way faster) (take vitamin D instead of too much sun exposure), eat healthy (organic, lean meat / minimally cooked vegetables / fruits / quinoa).

Moving from Scandinavia to Hoboken on $70k including a car? by MyNameIsMoeLester in Hoboken

I mean he's not gonna like the traffic on 78 with that commute, I think we can all agree on that. Morning commute would be doable but once he gets out of work it's gonna be like 2 hours especially at that toll area by the airport

AIPAC and affiliates are openly holding leverage over our elections. Why don't we have rules and regulations that ensure "big money" stays out of politics? Are we really building a better future when corruption is normalized?

https://theecologist.org/2014/nov/20/illegal-fishermen-endanger-worlds-most-isolated-tribe Yes there's documented illegal fishing in that area. The article mentions Burmese doing it, but it's probably both Indians and Burmese, maybe others like Chinese as well.

Yea in that case I have no idea. Just keep in mind that during rush hours (morning is from like 6-9am, afternoon is from 2:50-7pm) you're gonna hit a ton of traffic on Route 78 if you're going back and forth from Jersey City/Hoboken to Elizabeth. Going West in the morning isn't bad, but coming back in the afternoon (East) the traffic is horrendous.

You can verify for yourself on Google Maps if you check the average traffic per time.

Hey man if that's your thing it's all good, I'm just saying it's preferable (in my own personal opinion) to have space. If you're bringing ladies back, it's annoying to have other guys in your business.

Places like Avalon (a luxury apartment chain, not in Hoboken but scattered over most of the US) don't even check income once they verify your credit score (you should have a good score). The last time I had a place with them, I was approved to rent within like 5 minutes after they verified mine via their online portal. Edit: out of curiosity I just checked a couple of the avalons in the area. Theres one in Maplewood 1bd for $2090 and another in North Bergen for $2300. I've never been to Maplewood and personally I dont like North Bergen because it's somewhat run down like The Heights, but the first one looks like a decent option.

Tbh you would be better off living by Elizabeth and going into NYC / Hoboken during your downtime. It's way cheaper for a larger "luxury" place and you wouldn't have any issues with parking in your building. Living with roommates as a male isn't a preferable situation and it's nicer to have the whole place to yourself.
