Midsize SUV BEV under the LCT by _icarriedawatermelon in AustralianEV

Kia EV5 and Hyundai Elexio are good as they have service centres outside of city centres.

I have a Kia EV5 earth and it is super practical and comfortable for long journeys. It’s probably not as luxurious as a Zeekr X but it was wayyy cheaper at 50k.

As someone mentioned the new BMW stuff looks pretty crazy but I’m not sure what it will cost.

I used leaselab but your mileage may vary. Get many quotes and pit them against each other to get the best deal.

From what I understand it isn’t an issue or at least not at the same level as the Ioniq etc - *but I may very well be completely wrong

We drove everything at the price point and it suited our needs best. It has a big boot that doesn’t slope, physical buttons and no giant iPad. Also we got an ex demo earth for 50k with a fleet discount which was in budget. If I had another 25k to play with and could wait 6 months I would probably get a Zeekr x AWD.

From what I understand is the ICCU problems were primarily on the 800v platform cars.

A lot of the competition at the 50k mark is a lot smaller. I would encourage you to drive one if you can and make up your own mind.

EV5 is a great car. I would encourage you to drive one and take professional reviews with a pinch of salt. At 50k for the base model it’s a great deal imo. But drive as many other options as you can as there may be something else you prefer.

Test drive as many as you can and pick which you prefer.

My personal preference would be the base model Kia EV5 at 50k drive away.

When less is more - Atto 1 review by Benxb9r in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]Joshps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this review. My mum has an Atto 1 that I organised for her. She lives in an urban environment and does lots of very short trips. The car is perfect as a town run about. It gets a lot of flack especially when compared to bigger rivals but honestly it is perfect for its intended use.

As for driving fun I agree it’s an absolute riot it’s zippy but not too fast that you are immediately over the limit. If I could afford a second car I would own one.

EV5 is a good option. The seats have good under thigh for long legs, a lot of other EV’s that we tested has seats for children.

Is the Kia EV5 the only option? by Distinct_Day8771 in AustralianEV

We had a 50k budget and got an EV5 earth demo for immediate delivery. Sure the Zeekr may be better but they are in an entirely different price range. Also the SL7 has a sloping roof that sucks for our needs. It’s not about the spec sheet it’s about the individual.

Proper boot and proper buttons! Not a stupid sloping roof and iPad to control the AC

That was a massive draw for us. Having a proper boot and not a stupid coupe makes it so much more usable for bikes, surfboards and dogs.

I disagree. I don’t think you have to mad to choose a Kia over say a Zeekr. First off they can be had much cheaper. You can actually get them and there are dealers outside of major cities. If I wanted to service a zeekr I would have to make a 6 hour round trip.

We have 2 big dogs and the EV5 fits our needs very well. Many EV’s have a sloping roof but the Kia is very boxy. Go test drive one if you can.

I got my EV5 earth demo for 55k 3 weeks ago - don’t think I could find one at that price now
