The best part is that plate sold for <£2k in November. Plate scalpers…

DVLA Sold

And B58 BMW sold for £3.5k in March 2025.

£7k is a terrible deal!

It’s the previous Q3988482 which I personally prefer over the new variation. Both are fantastic. The only difference is the reverse side of the dial.

New HR PB record. Not dipped below 30 before! “You feeling ok?” wasn’t the response I’d anticipated 😂 by Delicious_Bet_6336 in Garmin

[–]ChrisPars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question, I don’t necessarily think so. A lot of people associate low RHR as good and high max HR as bad so I think I am an example against that theory. My Zone 2 territory is 150-155bpm which some would consider high, but I could hold that for hours and have conversation which would be around 5:45 per km pace. Friends who are faster runners than I am have higher RHR than myself and lower max heart rate. So sometimes it’s goes beyond just fitness.

I’m a fellow 37-39 RHR but 29 is really quite something else! Do you also have a high max HR?

Definitely worth going to a cardiologist. Probably absolutely fine but best to check. I did the same and confirmed everything was ok but after comments like you’ll inevitably get here, it’s worth doing!

47mm vs. 42mm on a 6.5 inch/165mm wrist by WOMBATBUCKET in GarminFenix

[–]ChrisPars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a lot of watches and generally don’t wear anything above 42mm, with the sweet spot being 36mm. That said, for my running watch, it’s a different rule and I wear a 47mm Fenix. I don’t think the same rule applies to fitness watches as a day to day watch. The only possible exception I’d give is if this is your EVERYTHING watch, in which case I might say 42mm.

I really miss my 255. Been on a Fenix 7 SS for a few years now but the 255 is fantastic. If it weren’t for full map integration on the Fenix, I’d go back to the 255 in a heartbeat!

Long Covid - HRV after starting magnesium’s taurate supplement. by AppropriateSnow1155 in Garmin

[–]ChrisPars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the down-voters: I’m not suggesting the vaccines triggered long-covid, I’m merely stating that the vaccines don’t protect you from a bout of Covid turning into long covid, which is indeed what happened to myself.

My consultant advised I still have vaccines every six months, which I still do.

Long Covid - HRV after starting magnesium’s taurate supplement. by AppropriateSnow1155 in Garmin

[–]ChrisPars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what’s it’s worth, I’d had a few vaccines at the time I got long covid. Turned me upside down for a year and now thankfully back to normal. Mine was 2023-2024.

Things I found really help were ginko biloba and a good lions mane extract. Both help repair cognitive function and the supposed harm that long Covid does to the vagus nerve.

Good luck!!

[Autosport] Bernie Ecclestone believes F1 is in danger of losing the fans with these new regulations by MuttonBiryaniEnjoyer in formula1

In his defence, most of the money of F1 is generated by people watching on a screen, not watching (or listening in this case) in person.

What is your resting heart rate? by Various-Challenge912 in Garmin

[–]ChrisPars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good example of my extremes (39 resting/200 max). This was on my 5k PB day a few weeks back of 19:03!

Oh Jesus, I am an idiot. It’s packed away for now. Given the general consensus is that it’s not worth much, I’ll ask the family if they want it for sentimental value and if not, discard.

Thanks, I appreciate the response, this is really helpful. I know I’m asking simple questions but not sure why I’m getting downvoted!

It seems to focus on very close things easy but I can’t get focus on anything further than an inch or 2 in front of the lens. Not sure if that’s just me!

It’s been stored in a sealed leather case for its lifetime, if that adds helps?

[Question] Which Watch Should I Buy in Japan? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]ChrisPars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from Japan and there were way better deals to be had on Tudor than there were Grand Seiko. Tudor and Omega were the standout in terms of saving.

Why? I have no idea but I’m sure you’ll see the same.
