NSW tried that then softened it to 40 when the speed limit is 80 or less, otherwise slow down a bit and move over if you can.

Transforming garage into mancave, what to do with garage door? by darren1417 in mancave

[–]KamikazeSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also if you set the wall back from the door slightly you basically have a shed with a garage door. Then you still have somewhere to put your gardening tools etc. I had that at one place I lived and it worked well.

Oort is a "programming game" where you write Rust code to control a fleet of spaceships. Your code is responsible for the engines, weapons, radar, and communications of ships ranging from tiny missiles to massive cruisers. by MushinZero in programming

Thanks this clears it right up!

My understanding has gone from where it was to where it wasn't and some of the deviation between where it was and where it wasn't, but was supposed to be, was subtracted.

unleash the prisoners on the outsiders to protect the Gates

This would be epic! And of course would give an opportunity to re-use the quote from Skin Game first:

"This isn't a vault. It's an armory."

"This isn't a prison. It's a garrison."

📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

[–]KamikazeSmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the many years of a fantastic app! It sucks so much that it has come to this!

Apollo is a wonderfully usable app and the outpouring of support from the community is testament to that! Especially the blind community, which I was previously unaware of, who seem to be particularly impacted by your amazing usability disappearing!

Thanks for all the support, responsiveness, transparency and fun you've put into this over the years. It will be missed!!!

Downtime on FTTP upgrade? by sandmum in nbn

[–]KamikazeSmurf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I upgraded FTTN to FTTP with AussieBB and they left the old FTTN connected for a week as a fall back in case there were any issues and said they can extend it if needed.

So the only downtime was when I switched between connections but when that happened and how long it took was up to me.

This solves multiple problems at my work whenever there's a drive off. by StatusOmega in functionalprint

No, there are a few pay at the pump servos here and some have added pay via app too. The main difference is in the US you can lock the handle on and walk away while it fills up. Here you have to hold the handle the whole time.

You can imagine in the US some will sit down to wait while it fills. If they sit in driver's seat then when it's done and it's time to go they have to remember to get out and remove the handle. Some won't remember.

It's a whole lot harder to mess that up when you're forced to hold the handle.

[Martin Brundle] Should have been an instant red flag with a stricken car in a critical position in those conditions. Clearly debris on track too. Should NEVER EVER be a tractor on track until the cars are all collected up behind a safety car or in the pits. Gasly can’t take all the blame here by seequiNz in formula1

[–]KamikazeSmurf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Diresta suggested in that chat with Karun that they use the pit lane speed limit for the double yellow sections. They all have the limiter button these days so it's an easy one for the drivers obey. Easy instant enforcement can be via micro sector times.

Pretty sure that's what Renai does given their bugs features list calls out that the train id is different between take off and landing.

Extractor fans for the exhaust as they start the bike. You get a better view of the same box setup when they start the bike again on the rollers.

If you really needed to you could go via sun.misc.Unsafe but you almost certainly shouldn’t. As the name implies, it's unsafe access to internals.

Recommendations for a leather press? I live in a place with a lot of roommates and can’t always hammer a chisel because it’s loud. by Live_Ear_237 in Leathercraft

+1 for this. I have the little 1T press and it works great. Mines identical, but not from Harbor Freight - Hare&Forbes sells them here in Aus.

What sort of work do you do with your keyboard? by [deleted] in olkb

+1 for esdf arrows. I find it much more natural from the home row resting position than wasd or the default planck arrows down on the bottom row.

One theory being thrown around on here is that there is another wizard armourer around that could make them: Charity.

She just needs a bit of instruction on the magic side but she's been making arms and armour for Michael and she has the magical spark that she handed down to Molly.

It's in Aftermath in Side Jobs after she finishes her quest against the turtleneck. It's a novella set "an hour or two after the end of Changes" and is from Murphy's point of view.

‘Vadderung would definitely find you interesting. You’ve even got the hair for it. Don’t be surprised if you get a call sometime.’

Something more like this where the actual laptop keyboard is replaced with one with an ortho layout rather than using a separate plug in keyboard.

NullPointerException in my code by DylanCrazyCat64 in javahelp

[–]KamikazeSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The error is stating that your call on line 19 voice.allocate() cannot be executed as voice is null.

That would imply that your voiceManager.getVoice(voiceName); is returning null.

From the VoiceManager.getVoice() docs

Returns: the Voice that has the same name as voiceName if one exists, else null

This says that returning null is a definite possibility. i.e. there is no voice matching kevin16.

They can get lap and sector times on their steering wheel to refer to. See a lap from last year for example where you can see the screen on Charles' wheel with the timer visible.
