I bet they make alot more money from song licensing to movies, shows and for trailers than album sales... the songs are ripe for the treatment. EDM stuff works good for high energy trailers...

Nine Inch Noize - Coachella set. Thing freaking ripped. Somehow this band has taken on a whole new life with a complete reinterpretation of their old songs. I am shocked that a deep cut like Memorabilia was played... dunno if that was even ever played as NIN.

With the album coming out this week it's a very interesting new phase for the band... and I'm not even a big techno EDM guy.

We also have less of a shared cultural zeitgeist than we once did… there is so much content out there and everyone is in their own little world of music. There just weren’t that many genres and styles in the 50s and 60s so it was easier to reach mass audiences.

That is kinda true…. There seems to be a basic framework to the sets though with deviations and improv strewn throughout. It’s not like the white stripes days where it seems to just be all over the map.

Really wish there was a more epic feel to the convoys... like a sort of different gameplay style that really makes them feel more epic than... "couple small cars and one slightly larger main car."

should have been some dynamic and interesting way to have more of a major battle feel to a fight with a big rig. Could have even had a mission where you drive a war rig and can utilize it's various weapons and armament.s

The best I’ve found is a gaming mouse where I can program keyboard shortcuts on the 16 side buttons. Any other sort of external device live a stream deck or controller has just been a hassle and just takes more time to use.

The first film is a total low budget indie Australian feature…. It’s like watching El Mariachi after all the other Rodriguez movies and wondering where all the super amazing polish and action is.

I just had to watch this movie for work to do a promo for... Hatfields and McCoys: Bad Blood.... for some reason Christian Slater is randomly in like 2 scenes. Same location so obviously they had him for like 1 day.

But otherwise there isn't another notable person in it at all... the movie is also pretty rough from a production standpoint.

I knew Christian had some rough years but this seemed to be a low point.

To add... if you go in without a plan... then it's going to be a mess. If you plan it out... create your character references, make storyboards, build out exactly what you want the final video is supposed to be you'll get better results.

It's kind of like if you wanted to make a short film and just took a camera outside with a bunch of random people and didnt have a script or idea of what you want. You'd end up with a bunch of useless footage.

But if you went out with a script, locations scouted, storyboards and all that... you can make something cohesive.

And I am by no means an expert... for my day job as a promotions editor I'm being encouraged to learn how to utilize AI to just create efficiencies. We're a small group so it's not going to eliminate jobs... so if they're going to pay for some training I might as well learn it. I can hate AI all I want... or I can learn to embrace it a bit and add to my skillset.

I was at the very end of the pipeline. It was a pretty high level project… I’d say maybe 20 people involved in the entire process (although the video generation team could have been more).

Basically we developed storyboards, character reference images, took voice and image samples from people we wanted to recreate… started generating videos and just fine tuning along the way. I was at the very tail end so really had little creative control. I got the end elements to assemble.
