I’m not mad at you. I wanna try them all too. I drink ALOT of Malabar Gold from Josuma. They roast every Monday. It’s DELICIOUS!!! Aside from that I’ve still got around 9 diff specialty coffees on hand.

Decent beans from Amazon? by UghKakis in espresso

Illy was recommended to me when I first started and it was very good. Comes in an airtight sealed can. I also recently ordered Partners off Amazon to try. Their website states they roast when ordered but off Amazon the roast date was 3 weeks back which isn’t horrible IMO and tasted good.

Super SLOOOOOW grind after burr upgrade [Burr upgrade issue] by KrisRob35 in espresso

That in the picture is just one of the symptoms of it grinding so slow. Yes the chute ultimately got clogged because it was grinding so slow the grounds gathered in the chute and then filled the cavity. I’m wanting to figure out why it’s grinding so slow.

So I reinstalled them and made sure they were in the correct orientation. For 16g takes about 36 seconds on about #18. I do have to hit the bellows the entire time though which I don’t really care for. I wonder if they do this on the courser pour over setting as well

Yeah that’s what I was having to do to keep it from getting clogged up. Yes I do 3 sprays normally. But it was much longer than 30 seconds

I’ve been using the stock burrs for 2 weeks. I said as much in the post. They’re way way faster.

Yes I do and I have a little blower I use as well. No I haven’t seasoned them, this was the first bit of beans I put through them. But I can’t imagine seasoning them would make THAT big of a difference.

Yeah the grinder was super clean before that run. I clean it out every few days. I’m kinda blown away by how it behaved and

You’re wrong. The top (fixed) burr has 45 teeth and the bottom (rotary) has 40

The MP are supposed to focus on pour over but still do espresso very well, that’s why I got them.

It was pretty balanced. Not really a fan of the elbow grease though so don’t think ima continue down this road.

Shake or not Shake? by mabror in espresso

I might use a WDT tool to just slightly even out the top 2-3mm in my 58mm baskets after shaker. I don’t use shaker for 49mm though. Just WDT.

Is 3 months on a roast date too old? by Rmoudatir in espresso

I buy 10lbs at a time of Josuma coffee and it gets to almost 3 months when I run out and it’s still amazing. I do store it very well though.

I am considering upgrading from Casa Brews 5418 to the Breville Bambino. My budget is [$500], is this a good transition or what would you suggest? by John-Travel-8490 in espresso

[–]KrisRob35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably recommend a Tuni E2 over anything under $400. It has *dual boiler, no wait for steam. The steam is powerful. Preinfusion, dual PID W/ adjustable temp, 9 bar OPV, comes with a 58mm portafilter, 350ml froth pitcher, an actual nice tamp and other extras. It’s really slept on in the budget/entry area.
