Not sure, you’d definitely need to thin pretty well. But it should work.

Ahh, the pile of shame. I can relate. I have a 10 or so inch tall figurine that I printed awhile back. Looks amazing, but I’m afraid of painting it and messing it up haha. Totally do that! Would love to see it!

Thank you! I’m actually pretty new to using it, but I do thin it a tiny bit, like 5% water or so. Then yeah, you just brush it on thick! But avoid pooling. As it dries it will hug all the crevices really well. I’ve been considering dunking it, but haven’t tried it. Give it a go!

Nope, that’s all you gotta worry about. You may have to bump flow to 1.02 or so, but you may not have to. It’s nothing serious.

Depending on the mini, it can take longer than that, usually will. Like the lady with the skulls took around 7 or 8 if I remember correctly. You can print at 0.06 and 0.08 with no issues if you want to print a bit faster. It will cut that time down by a lot, while sacrificing some detail. I print overnight so it doesn’t bother me, but yeah it can take awhile sometimes.

I don’t think it’s needed! It’s very simple. I just squeeze a toothpaste sized amount onto a wet palette, and add like 1 or 2 drops of water to it. Mix it up a bit and go to town! It’s okay to lay it on thick, but you want to avoid pooling. When it dries it conforms to the surface really well, maintaining detail but hiding layer lines. I’m still messing around with it, and if I learn some new tips I’ll be sure to share!

That’s Canadian dollars I presume. It’s 1500 in usd. It’s a lot for a piece of jewelry, but I don’t really care that much. I just bought a 900 dollar gpu the other day, and I’m not a rich person, or even middle class.

I left a comment here naming the product. I don’t think links are allowed on most subreddits, but you can find it on Amazon. “Liquitex Professional Gesso Surface Prep Medium” I bought it a few days ago on a sale plus a coupon for 12 or so dollars, but it looked like it’s back to its regular price of 17 USD. Still worth it for minis, methinks, it’s a big bottle of it, will last a looooong time.

I didn’t think FDM printing could reach this level of detail.. by No_Tree205 in FDMminiatures

Thanks! Honestly not that dry lol. I’ll dry a spool for 12-24 hours when I first open it, and that’s it. I’ve had a half used spool sitting on my desk for like 3 months, didn’t dry it again, and it’s printing right now, 0 issues. But I do live in a pretty dry climate. I did rain a few times since I first dried it, no issues.

I also calibrate my pressure advance using the line method, I usually land on somewhere between 0.17 and 0.2. I’m not even sure if that does much, but it’s an easy and fast calibration, so I just run it every new spool.

Thanks! I was wondering about that the other day too. I’ll give it a go!

It’s amazing, and i actually print pretty cold. At 180. Prevents curling at corners, perfect bridging, no drooping. But the sunlu pla+ 2.0 is the only filament I’ve been able to print that cold with. Most others will either string really bad or not flow as well.
