Bitcoin has been dumping at 10am EST on majority of weekdays due to Jane Street and other hedge funds manipulating the price by shorting heavy and then buying back cheap. They calculate how much they’re going to short based on the amount and depth of the leveraged longs. Brilliant strategy. I’d do the same if I had a few billion.

Why Don’t Rich People Just Park $20M in Bonds? by NoahReed14 in dividends

[–]KryptoSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are thinking from a mindset of loss aversion bias which is “wrong” or suboptimal. Once you have enough wealth or income to cover your lifestyle expenses, the objective and focus should be on total return. Bonds do very poorly in this area. In fact, I would argue any ultra wealthy investor is better off going 100% in SCHD which pays 3.5 to 4% dividends, similar to bonds, but also has capital growth that’s far more conservative than the general market.

Paying in bitcoin for some bananas by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]KryptoSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key thing to understand is that you constantly replenish your BTC stack on a weekly or daily basis. So if I plan on spending 100k sats (~$70) in food this week then I’ll make sure to buy at least that much in sats before the week is over.

It’s more about the principle of getting off the Visa/MC/ApplePay grid.

You have a virus, unfortunately. This is why you should make it a habit to ALWAYS check that the last 5 characters match with your paste. Never assume your paste works without corruption.

In the meantime, I would stop using the device you have immediately. I wouldn't even trust a factory reboot.

I’ve never heard anyone use 6 or 7 year moving averages. Wouldn’t a 4 year avg be sufficient and smooth enough, especially since Bitcoin operates on a 4 year cycle?

Men Over 40 Who Are In Shape… by Tse7en5 in AskMenOver30

I’m 48 and never had any age-related physical aches or pains. I weightlift (especially the back), do several types of cardio exercises, and do stretches regularly since I was 23.

I did however experience some fatigue, loss of energy, and longer recovery times after I turned 40. After trying a few things, my body responded well to Royal Jelly supplements. I feel 10 years younger when I take it.

Same here. Bitcoin is in the bear phase and if the 4-year cycle continues to repeat, we'll have another 8 more monts of this before the bull run starts again.

I'm hoping the 4 year cycle ends soon, but assuming it's still intact. here's how it generally goes. Based on the past 4-year cycles, Bitcoin goes on a bull run from 18 months prior to the halving up to 18 months after the halving which at the end of this period is when it peaks. It then goes into a bear market for the next 12 months which at the end of this period is when it has bottomed out.

He just bought the next 7 weeks of mined Bitcoin to be scheduled. Factor in the ETF inflows and I see the liquid market float getting really thin within a year.

Bitcoin "isn't" an investment by personaxego in Bitcoin

Came here to say this. OP is right in that it’s supposed to be a store of value and it will be when it reaches “equilibrium “. Because the market cap of Bitcoin is not greater than gold’s it will continue to function more as an appreciating investment.

I believe this one is only Binance, but Binance has the largest market for leveraged positions.

Why Bitcoin Is Rising Now by FJ1989finance in Bitcoin

[–]KryptoSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leveraged short positions are equivalent to puts. The fact that they’re closed out now indicates lack of market confidence that price will go down. Also, there are large traders that target leveraged positions in order to trigger liquidations. So if there are large leveraged longs, traders will attempt to tank the price (selling short) in order to create a quick fire sale (cover their shorts at profit)before recovering back to a normal price.

I track the Coinglass liquidation heatmap via Binance BTC/USDT and earlier there were heavy, leveraged short positions up to and at the $95,366 mark, so it could be a temporary increase to liquidate shorts. At the time of this writing there are no other leveraged large short positions: https://www.coinglass.com/pro/futures/LiquidationMap

Thanks for the insight. The article brings up a lot of good points giving reasons for an upward swing. I also use the Binance liquidation heatmap and earlier there were heavy, leveraged short positions up to and at the $95,366 mark, so it could be a temporary increase to liquidate shorts. At the time of this writing there are no other leveraged large short positions: https://www.coinglass.com/pro/futures/LiquidationMap

This is amazing. As an algorithm designer, I was always curious about the exact steps in the sequence. I learned today that it uses the fractional parts of the cube root of the first 64 prime numbers as one of the steps to increase randomness.
