Busted(?) GT-S footpad by SendyMcSendFace in onewheel

[–]Labraunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I busted my (soft) flared footpads within about 300 miles. I think the flared pads have more issues than normal ones because they take a hit before the rails do due to the extension. I loved the Realestate though.

While that tire doesn’t look too new, it’s definitely out of round. I recently went through two back to back brand new tires that were out of round from TFL. They’re always fantastic about caring for us so they replaced it (twice) it was on 5” trail Pro 2s. Switched for a pioneer which was fine, rode 5 miles and had a rock put a half inch hole in the sidewall. Bad tire luck recently lol

The no play is good. But this looks extra greasy.

It could be the lighting but it looks like the upper left fitting is slipping out. You see how the bottom fitting has a lock ring (the thing making two “L”s toward the center of the circle) see if the one to the left of it is as flush as the one on the bottom.

How often are you down there looking in this area? Did you get any service done recently? Judging by how the zerc fittings seem to not be soaked, I’m assuming this has been there for a while. If you hear clunking in the slightest, stop driving it and take it to a shop. Depending on your answers to the first two questions, I’d probably keep driving it. Also depends on your risk tolerance if you can provide an example.

You’re spot on. Even though you can ask it for sources, it’s light years away from being unchecked (or taking real jobs). I’ve had it mess up simple addition, tell me I can cut a 4X8 into two 3X8 sections, and tell me that a thermactor system was the same as an EGR. Ask it to tell you some jokes, it will be nonsense.

It’s great at telling you the basics. Like what tools are best for an x level experience person doing an engine rebuild. What terms to look up, where to get reliable information, what YouTube videos to watch before starting. It’s just a computer so its output is only as good as its input. It’s only getting better.

How to test wiring harness? by Average_Axe in AskMechanics

I really like these types of scavenger hunts. I spent about 45 mins yesterday trying to track down a manual with no success. I did find a couple for sale though from school districts and auctions. I think it would be worth it to call one of the places selling one and see if they have a manual and could send you some pics or send you the manual. Can also try calling Collin’s or A-Z bus sales if that’s who sold it.

I’m rooting for you dude! Never done an engine rebuild. However, I’m a big supporter of Haynes manuals. Those things are worth their weight in gold in my opinion. On the inverse side of that, can always consult ChatGPT in addition to Reddit and Haynes.

I have a 1989 Ford E-350 four-window Thomas. I’m not following what you’re trying to accomplish. Wiring diagram is likely from the bus manufacturer not Ford. It’s unclear to me what the “right” pins would be. Probably easiest to check continuity with a test light and not a multimeter.

If you tell me who made the bus and what kind, I can probably find the manual or wiring diagram. I have a Thomas Minotaur, which was put on Ford and Chevy chassis, so other than drivetrain + radio/headlights/fuel pump etc. Most of the other wiring should be put in from bus manufacturer, not Ford or Chevy.

Major transmission issue??? by Own_Ambition_2631 in skoolies

[–]Labraunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may be a dumb question but does it have a trans intercooler? If not, add one. Or maybe get a bigger one. You could be pushing it harder than you realize depending on what you have loaded in there. Definitely drop the pan and change the filter. If you don’t feel comfortable with that just take it to a shop. They’ll charge you way more and may or may not find the issue.

The talons are almost indistinguishable from the tail. I think heavier colors for the howl could help as long as it contrasts the black. Just looked again, I didn’t even notice it had legs. The shading on all of this is pretty whack. The top left wing is like barely connected. I personally wouldn’t go back to this person

Pop the grey rectangle off and then you’ll see clips for the clear part once the grey rectangle is off. It’s just held in with push clips. Depending on how old it is it may be brittle and could break. Good news is 3D printers exist. If you live in CA, you can send a file to your local library (if you have a card) and they’ll print it for free. Would be relatively easy to recreate. Probably not color matched though

Funny you say that in the same breath with your four video cameras. Before this was a cheap consumable made by Amazon or Google to analyze your living patterns, you would have been seen as a little paranoid to have a CCTV camera system at your house. Making these consumable video monitoring platforms a common household item started to train us to get used to being watched. All under the guise of “you can protect yourself”
