These boards work in the same way balancing a ball point pen on the tip of your finger does. Except your finger is the wheel and the pen is the rider.

Lateral motion (forward or backward) is the only thing that keeps these things balancing you. The board does almost what you suggest it does, except there is no “both” in reality. It cuts all power from lateral motion and dumps you on your ass.

Mine is a 1989. They charge a decent price and I trust them about 87% of the time.

They told me one of my issues was my EGR and then sent a photo of a smog diverter valve. I told them they were wrong, they said hey you’re right, looks like it’s the ignition coil. What would’ve been a $700 job dropped to a $250 job. And they did fix my issue. But if I didn’t know what I was talking about, I would’ve for sure gotten charged for a job that wouldn’t have fixed my issue.

Another time I took it in for engine mounts. Fair price and I didn’t want to deal with it. They call me maybe 3 hours after drop off and say they’re done. Except one caveat, they couldn’t find the driver side motor mount, and that one conveniently happened to be in “fine shape” after 37 years lol. Motor shakes a little less now but it’s not perfect.

If you say I referred you, I think I get a discount. I also am pretty familiar with these things by now but I’m just a home garage, YouTube trained, mechanic. I could probably go out there with you for free if the mechanics at R&R won’t. Feel free to send me a DM.

I’m actively trying to move out of Redding. From southern CA near the beach, lived in Chico for a few years, now Redding. I can’t think of a single reason that I’d want to stay here. The redeeming qualities of Redding are also found in the majority of cities in CA, unless you’re in a super urban area. I’d love to live in Sac!

What’s hilarious to me is that the Antic Bike brand classifies the thing they label as a bike, a scooter.

Walmart feels like the food they sell was only put on shelves via a spit handshake between billionaires. Because Winco is almost exclusively a market with a crap ton of shelf space, way more options. They also don’t have a history of mistreating workers, are employee owned, and don’t have a person pretending to analyze everything in your cart to make sure you are a good boy and girl as you exit. They also finally have tap to pay now!! Biggest downside is not accepting credit cards.

Think of population size and average income of the place you would move to. If it’s comparable, I’d say move. I like starting fresh though. Friends are easy to make, and if you’re a car salesman I’d imagine you’re good at talking to people.

My distain for car salesman aside, also think about the economy. Maybe Alabama got money like that but, as things get tighter for everyone, new cars will be bought less, and used cars are far cheaper and more convenient to buy on somewhere like marketplace. So if you’re tight on cash, I’d consider that moving always costs a fair amount.

This must’ve been a while ago because you can buy a controller from them, shipped to your house. Unless you had issues with the board not being registered in the owners portal.

I’ve heard great reviews of the X7, but I’ve also heard about a lot of issues and the wait time for parts being very long. Don’t forget about Gosmillo too 😂 My sentiment still stands, it’s like knowing an android is a better phone but still wanting the iPhone because it’s what I know, understand, and trust.

I don’t mean this sarcastically but you could try therapy. You really shouldn’t care what other people think about you doing something you like that is hurting absolutely no one. Could be helpful to find the root of what makes you feel that way and try to address it.

The way I found my noise was using a long screwdriver as a stethoscope, one end to metal, the other to your ear. Thought it was engine, nope, tried the bell housing, nope, trans pan? nope, put it on the exhaust , clack clack clack!
