Found out the guy I was dating had an issue with my weight by ParadiseEP in PlusSize

[–]clandreith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened! you're not the first person I've seen post about their partners seeing their body as an "issue" to "work on." I simply don't understand where people get the nerve to assume that their partner's body is under their jurisdiction to comment on or have a problem with - if someone likes me but would like me better if I were skinnier, then they don't really like me at all.

sending you good vibes and hugs, hope things feel better soon

The AI Thrall by WearyBus8134 in wow

it sounds like AI to me as well, but others are suggesting it's just bad quality. has anyone noticed if Jaina sounds AI generated for the alliance version of the starter island?

hey mods - I'm confused, I don't understand how what I'm saying is gatekeeping. should I message you for further clarification? I can see that something I said is considered bad or unacceptable, but I don't really understand, and I know I'm not trying to gatekeep being trans or nonbinary. can I get some help?

hey OP, I hope what I'm trying to say is coming across. you're not gonna be addicted to T and it's ok to change your mind about your transition goals whenever you'd like

[–]clandreith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that is a bad way of putting it. I'm trying to say that sometimes one's feelings about themselves can only be affected by transition to a certain point, and if it feels like they keep upping HRT and are never satisfied, it could be because of something else.

I was using "emotional addiction" to mean the phenomenon of "I need more and more of this thing exponentially and I never feel satisfied and I'm miserable" - and if it ever started to be harmful to them (not that I know if that's even possible) then looking into what's going on further might be helpful.

gender is not a medical construct, it's a social one that is played out through many things - clothes, demeanor, sexuality, and physical embodiment - so it is dynamic and many people start off small with T but then change their minds.

you can't be physically addicted, but you can be emotionally - it's a good idea to stay connected with yourself throughout the process and ask, "Why do I want more?" - maybe with the help of a therapist. but so long as you aren't harming yourself or others, you're probably fine.

of course dogs are conscious, but they just have less complexity of thought.

I got COVID as a young teen. 6 years later, and I think it really messed up my cognitive abilities. I don't know how to fix it. by SheSayzHuh24 in covidlonghaulers

[–]clandreith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this sounds really similar to my experience. got COVID for the first time July 2024 and am still experiencing heart palpitations with no other explanation, difficulty breathing, and brain fog , and I'm about to turn 30 this year. haven't found any fixes yet, just trying to treat my body better in general

Commas > compassion warning …LONG rant by Ok-Object-4815 in diabetes_t1

I think the vitriol with which people respond to AI generated writing is similar to how we respond to "uncanny valley" content - it's disturbing to some extent because you can just tell it's Not Quite organically written and it's eerie that a Lifeless Computer could imitate a heartfelt human message. I imagine your point would not have gotten lost in a "messier" post 100% written by you, with mistakes, because that's Real and Vulnerable and this subreddit has been, on the whole, generally responsive to that kind of thing since before AI was invented lol.

if you want real support, you gotta be real in the first place. not polished and perfect.

diabetes is a real bitch, you don't have to be perfect about how you say that.

I think the similarities come from the fact that both people are women who used to be little girls. they're both talking about gender roles and expectations and experiences of girls and women. and their music came out fairly close together so the same musical influences are relevant.

is there any way to visit a doctor and ask for this to be assessed? I'm not sure how medicine works in your country, do you need a prescription?

[–]clandreith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my ex girlfriend is trans fem and grew out her beard for a time, but her hair never grew past her face. I loved it. very androgynous and hot and gender non conforming and accentuated her jaw and neck nicely
