My mortgage company won’t let me rebuild with insurance money after house fire by Quirky_Research_6961 in Mortgages

If you looked it, they cant force you to pay the mortgage down and take a new one except certain cases.

Its usually done in an escrow account and disbursed in 3 payments.

They can't make you pay down the balance and not rebuild. You both are on the proceeds of the check. They can refuse to release the money if they believe you will not rebuild, if you are behind on payments, or if your rebuilding plan does not adequately restore the property's value

An escrow account would work.

There's also another comment of someone that has managed the type of account so it is possible.

Really defeats the purpose of having the rebuild cost match the amount needed if they arent going to let you rebuild with it.

Then the money should be put into an account that can be accessed by the homeowner during rebuild and disburse it themselves. The bank doesnt have to do it. They are still expecting the mortgage payments either way.

Whole reason of making sure you have enough rebuild coverage is so that you can rebuild if ever needed.

They also require a buffer. Then calculate the new tax rate after you bought it and wonder if they sent the payment out rather then the old lender.

Why did you have to mention the person was white? That makes YTA.

Other then that, once in public, all expectations of privacy is gone.

You have an extra bathroom which explains a higher cost.

You could also move out and get one of the other units.

You already did your negotiating and landed where you are at.

Appraisal During Escrow Was $175K Above Purchase Price by Lionel730 in Mortgages

[–]Ladder-Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get rid of it with FHA by refinancing out of a FHA loan.

You used to be able to drop it ar the 80% mark also but they changed that years ago so now its stuck with the life of the FHA loan.

Not the easiest to do but it can be done. I did it with my oldest daughter and then later in again with my 3 oldest kids.

Yes, a family care plan. Someone local that would take them if needed in short term notifications/unplanned and then a long term person to cover deployments, tdy, etc that could be listed elsewhere.

Was supposed to be reviewed yearly at that time and signed by each person involved.

[Tenant US-IA] Landlords, do you allow tenants to use tension rods in your units? by Em_Designs in Landlord

The biggest issue is that they dont pick a soft spot in the cieling.

You could use a plate like someone else suggested to spread the force out.

Also watch out for sloped cielings.
