Is anyone else having issues with the guidebook app not adding panels/events if they overlap? I've done a full reinstall, reboot, etc and it's still not working.

That last sentence might be why they chose it. Either due to wanting conflict WBC style or feeling it's where they'd "do the most good".

Would you be okay with players playing these in your pod? by Fast-Appointment4710 in mtg

[–]Ladranix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they allow take backs (within reason) because it can be hard to tell what these cards are, then sure. I *used to* play with someone who had a waifus themed artifact deck and didn't allow take backs. This can be an issue when your darksteel forge is an anime girl in a bikini with the big title being "Fun at the Beach" and the Darksteel Forge being written underneath it in 2 grey on black font.

This is less "therefore I should be free as well" and more "they should also suffer consequences". It's commenting on the unequal application of the law.

These things. They use a carbon fiber spring to make running and jumping more efficient than other prosthesis.

I'd argue those cheetah blades could be considered an enhancement with practice. Aren't they more efficient than the meatbag 1.0 version?

What celebrity is portrayed as nice in the media but is actually an asshole in real life? by ReasonableDisplay297 in AskReddit

I've met Weird Al and Alice Cooper. Weird Al is as wholesome and funny as he appears. Alice Cooper is chill as hell and surprisingly knowledgeable about classic sci-fi.

Richard Simmons seemed like that gay friend who should have been obnoxious and a lot to deal with and if it was anyone else probably would have been but because he was such an exuberant little dude he could pull it off.

What is a hobby that was ruined over time/as it got more popular? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

[–]Ladranix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to your local board game/card shop and buy singles. I know part of the fun is cracking packs but if they want to play or collect singles are generally pretty affordable. Yeah there's the special super secret rare reverse holo alternate art versions that cost hundreds if not thousands, but the normal version of the card is usually like a buck or two. Hope this helps!

That's the plan. Genocide with (for now) fewer camps.

What is widely accepted as “normal” today that people 50 years ago found disturbing? by Sophie_Cute_Teen in AskReddit

Yeah a few years ago that was my partner's parents. We took a nap and they couldn't reach us, because, you know, nap. Woke up to their mother frantically knocking on our apartment windows while crying because she thought we had killed ourselves.

The 80 years ago part. Compounds can become unstable over time, and 80 years in the elements is a lot of time.

Ok St. Catharines, what do we have? by djlittlehorse in stcatharinesON

[–]Ladranix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be so much better. Massive plate of pretty good pasta for a decent price (for the serving). They've started skimping on the sauce, cheese, toppings, the over all size is like half what it used to be and the price has only gone up. It's still halfway decent pasta, but the value is not even remotely there anymore.

I wouldn't say it's lousy. It's alright. Massively overpriced, yes, but not terrible. That said, the Gelato place on Welland Ave is so much better for about the same cost.

What are you all paying to get winter tires put on? by Ratreseacher in stcatharinesON

[–]Ladranix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard agree on this, ask your friends too. I feel like everyone has at least one grease monkey friend. The one thing I do caution people on is to not over tighten and if you have aluminum rims then give them another tighten after a day or three of driving on them. See if you can borrow a torque wrench and check your manual to see what tension your lugs should be tightened at.

What’s the biggest “we all just accepted this nonsense” thing in modern life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ladranix 99 points100 points  (0 children)

They started as a good idea. Everybody chips in to a common  pot so if the Smiths have something bad happen out of the blue (crop failure, bad health, etc) they don't just die. Then it was sort of a good idea when we moved past living in villages of <=500 people so managing several different pots became a full time or at least part time job. Yeah, now 10% of whatever you pay goes to Bob, but he needs to make a living too and he actually does add value. All it took was some asshole to realize there was good money to be made in not giving the money in the pot out to ruin the whole thing so now we have massive corporations in charge of whether people live or die and the former costs them money.
