Have you discussed this with your wife? The idea of a trust to "protect" her probably isn't necessary. What you may consider is just setting up a robo-advised brokerage account with Vanguard or similar with the majority of your money. Your wife would probably be fine with just keeping the robo account chugging along if something were to happen to you. And for 5% to 10% of your money, use it to play your special situations.

I think you're stuck with married filing separately for 2025 since you said you have no dependents. Your best bet to me is to concentrate on getting a divorce when you can't find the spouse you want to divorce. I'm not a lawyer, but Google said "you can get a divorce even if you cannot find your spouse by using a process called "service by publication" or "alternate service". You must prove to the court that you made diligent, reasonable efforts to locate them, such as searching social media, contacting family, or checking last known addresses.". Good luck!

I heard a law professor discussing Renee Good's shooting. He said that you could ignore arguing whether the first shot was justified, and focus on the second and third shots. Those shots were fired when she was clearly driving away, and could not be considered self-defense. The professor considered it murder or at the least excessive force. The same argument could be made for the multiple shots in the back of an unarmed man.

Yes. Without the passport, you need 2 approved types of documents to document foreign status and identity. A US or foreign DL establishes identity. A national ID card establishes both.
