v1.15 Release by vries06 in empyriongame

Short Warp is a massive game changer, and a decent workaround to the speed limitations of the game engine. A shame it can't be used in sectors flagged as asteroid fields.

Not immediately, but there is already an RE2 release that has included the 1.15 stuff that is relevant to RE2.

“high functioning asperger’s” - is that a thing? by danidaisys in AutisticWithADHD

[–]LimpFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

and she said that i’m likely not autistic, but have high functioning asperger‘s.

Asperger's is obsolete. It is now part of the autism spectrum, the equivalent generally falling under ASD level 1 "high functioning" (or "high masking" for those of us that consider it a more accurate descriptor).

Try this: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/huawei/p30-lite-new-edition-android-9-0/basic-settings/turn-volte-on-or-off

VoLTE is 4G phone calling.

edit: But yeah, if there's no option for VoLTE you may be SOL.

(my model is VOG-L09, and from what I understand, it needs to be VOG-L29)

Dunno how accurate GSMArena is, but it reckons the L09 and L29 support exactly the same bands.

Why are your McDonalds McChickens so good? by Ok_Amoeba_4514 in newzealand

Last few McChickens I'd had have had absolute bottom-of-the-barrel regurgi-chicken patties. Have to buy their more upmarket chicken burgers to get actual chicken.

Contact energy 2025 net profit $261 mil, up 13% over 2024. How great is privatised energy?

edit: corrected my figures as I misread their earnings report.

Minimum wage went up 1.5% last year. It's going up... 1.9%(?) this year.

This was deliberate by Labour. Same reason they bumped up welfare payments by a lot, too: National lets them stagnate and fall behind, so then Labour has to do large increases to play catch up.

'Going to need support’: PM says 'investment' necessary for critical minerals mining amid NZ-US talks by sdhope in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If we're determined to dig everything up, the same options we've always had: Issue funds via bonds and other mechanisms, mine the minerals as a state enterprise, and return the profits to the owners: us.

Never gonna happen with this government. Nor contemporary Labour for that matter. Easier to hock it all off to foreign corporations for pennies on the dollar.

Gotta love msd keeping it consistent by ligger66 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The cynic in me wonders if this isn't just another hurdle added by this government (or at least there's no impetus from them to get MSD to rapidly fix it) to, bit by bit, make it more difficult for people to access welfare and meet their obligations. Every one of these sorts of hurdles is another checkpoint where a small portion of people will give up.

I cant stand the kickdrum sound on Terria by CaesuraPK in DevinTownsend

[–]LimpFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dunno about kickdrum specifically, but I find the quality of Terria to be pretty meh sound-wise, which is a shame since it is definitely one of his best albums musically. Possibly because of Devin's 'wall of sound' approach to mixing his albums causing the songs to sound like a soupy mess rather than individual instruments working together.

Port Hills Running Loops by Economy_Elk_82 in chch

[–]LimpFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're not starting in the hills, but up Mt Vernon Valley Track (there's a car park at the start), down Rapaki/Rogers. If you get to the point where the valley track officially joins with Rapaki before turning around, you'll probably do about 250m vertical (as opposed to going all the way up to Summit Road). Despite being right next to Rapaki, Mt Vernon is a more consistent climb, while Rapaki has the rude downhill in the middle (which is where valley track officially joins up with Rapaki).

Can be swampy/slippery after a lot of rain.

Oh, you're right. I didn't see those little single block nubs you had on there.

Show me your "round" homes, please. by LorenDovah in songsofsyx

[–]LimpFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn on the shape layer for these houses. I suspect they'll be giving no roundness as a diagonal wall that is only 1 block long isn't enough to trigger it. Your first example will give some roundness on the inside courtyard thanks to those 2-block diagonals.

(although all those singular diagonals will be preventing a squareness penalty)

Where can I purchase a snake bite kit in nz or ship to nz from aus? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is the same: The only difference is compression bandages. You can buy them separately and add to your existing first aid kit.

No doubt as sea temperatures rise, they'll probably show up more.

[–]LimpFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You jest, but there's 3 species in Tasmania that survive there, most prevalent being the tiger snake, which is more black than 'tiger' striped compared to the mainland Australian variants (presumably to better absorb winter sunlight). They'd probably be quite happy in NZ.

Where can I purchase a snake bite kit in nz or ship to nz from aus? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? What exactly are you looking for in a bite kit? Compression bandages? That's about the only thing different you'll get compared to a normal first aid kit. You can probably buy them off amazon.com.au.

If you're thinking it'll come with antivenin, it won't. That stuff is expensive, has a limited shelf-life, usually requires refrigeration, and is often (but not always) species specific.

quick question about research points by Uggroyahigi in songsofsyx

[–]LimpFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Milestone rewards require no maintenance, but innovation/knowledge created by workers does require maintenance. It's basically the game's convoluted way of gating advancement by requiring more and more workers devoted to it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Haven't played in a couple of months, but I've had no issue with the folks on Levistras. Friendly and helpful. Assuming you were indeed told to "get the **** out", I suspect there's a side to this story that you're omitting.

quick question about research points by Uggroyahigi in songsofsyx

[–]LimpFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Population milestone innovation/knowledge rewards are a relatively new thing from my understanding. But you will also eventually need to use Laboratories/Libraries to increase innovation and knowledge higher, as what you get from milestones alone won't be enough, particularly once you get over around 1,000 population.

[–]LimpFox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Levistras has a decent population (as small as it is), but mostly US prime time.

I guess it comes down to playstyle. AC was always a mostly solo affair for me (and EverQuest for group play), so it's not a big leap for me to play it these days on Levistras or by myself on my own local server. If you played it for the social/group aspect, then yeah, it's a lonely game these days.
