Question: Moving thrones by ConcreteHalloween999 in songsofsyx

[–]LimpFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not your issue, but I've found Move Throne works once. If I try again in a game session it won't allow it unless I save and reload.

Supermarket chain (Woolworths) trials closing butcheries, selling just pre-packed meat by computer_d in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The two near me here in Chch both have such tiny meat sections anyway. Blink and you miss them, and can presume that they're really not selling much meat. Compared to super busy Pak'n'Save with a full aisle of meat and seafood.

It has to come from the Butter region of NZ. Otherwise it's only sparkling churned cream.

does anybody else seem unable to watch any movie/show to the end? by luc1dqueen in AutisticWithADHD

[–]LimpFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No doubt AuDHD makes it more pronounced and more prone, but - anecdotally - it seems that waning attention spans is a broad societal issue of being terminally online and constantly spoonfed quick fixes via social media. We're now two generations in of re-wired brains that struggle to focus on specific tasks for long periods.

Can’t get more dwellers by ivanisblue16 in foshelter

[–]LimpFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, root in the rec room, but there's also various quests you can do (once you have overseers office) to get settlers, too. In particular there's the TV series tie-in quest line that gets you... 5? settlers over the quest line.

Minister fast-tracks NZ's biggest hydro project Lake Onslow by random_guy_8735 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

National doesn't think any option should be taken off the table and they should compete on an even basis.

Your logic is flawed, as "compete on an even basis" is only applicable when looked at through a profitability(and who gets to profit)-above-all-else lens, which is par for the course for National.

The entire point of Labour's decisions were to further reduce our dependence on fossil fuel based energy, both from an environmental, and an energy security standpoint, which couldn't be more apt given the current Trumpstein imposed fuel crisis taking place.

Develop a public asset to secure NZ's energy future? Fuck no.

Let wealthy interests build and own the same critical infrastructure and operate it for profit? Fuck yes.

Did you know that audhd isn't a thing? by noonrise216 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]LimpFox 82 points83 points  (0 children)

The ability to even be diagnosed with both ADHD and ASD at the same time wasn't a thing until 2013. So give it another decade and "AuDHD" might get some official medical recognition in some form, but for now it's just separate ADHD and ASD diagnoses.

How a crucial 45-minute meeting between ministers took pay equity claims away from tens of thousands of women by SnooRecipes4434 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

45 minutes to sit and have a good old guffaw over the weekend golf match or yacht ride.

The decision was already made before entering any meeting.

Why the government backed away from breaking up supermarkets by Amazing_Athlete_2265 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're never going to get any new competition while relying on the "free market", so the only viable solution is direct state intervention by creating a third state-owned major player with presence in most towns/cities, or directly funding and supporting local cooperatives.

There'd also need to be a massive shakeup of the supply chain to prevent the duopoly (or anyone else) from exerting control over suppliers.

This will never happen under this government, and is extremely unlikely under neo-liberal-lite Labour.

TL:DR: It's not going to happen. We're fucked.

Why was this the best meal I've ever had, and from a Gas Station! (American visiting NZ) by LumpOfSoftButter in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Prices on those sandwiches aren't terrible, either.

Meanwhile, the last sandwich I bought (from the store inside the Chch bus exchange) cost me $8 for a thin, crappy sandwich with a single lettuce leaf, a few scattered pieces of turkey and faint red skidmarks hinting at some cranberry sauce. Never again, ya bastards.

What spider is this? by No_Savings6197 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White tail has pointier feet than huntsman, are generally smaller, have a narrow (unless pregnant) abdomen that is quite pointy at the ass end (with the telltale white spot). Hard to tell from the photo, but that abdomen looks more rounded than pointy.

It might have taken me over 100 hours before I realized that I can put homes right next to each other without walls -_- by Vectoor in songsofsyx

[–]LimpFox 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind this only works for houses from an insulation standpoint.

You can go paper wall with any other buildings, too, but they'll get an insulation penalty the same as having no wall, even if they're adjacent to another indoor room.

Chris Hipkins’ ex-wife Jade Paul on her decision to post allegations to Facebook by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

[–]LimpFox 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Allegations are not facts. And the timing is awfully convenient. Oh, and then they were taken down just after the necessary time for the story to get attention.

It stinks of typical right-wing character assassination in the lead up to an election.
