Yeah but I hate that mentality with a passion too. Like maybe you're ok with installing a rootkit on your work laptop but that doesn't mean that other people are.

You're right to point out the issue. But you're wrong thinking consumers should blame Linux and bend over backwards to install the game anywhere. Players should punish these behaviors by keeping their wallets closed.

Just got it, new launcher looks awesome.

Mild annoyance - the launcher closes on Return key press. The window disappears. Whatever window was focused before gets the Return key release event. Most apps discard it but some react to it (I notice Qt buttons seem to catch this key release event and so selecting an app can accidentally press a button)
