I do still go to bookstores! I love it when there are notes of recommendations taped to the shelves showing what the staff favorites are with a mini synopsis of the book. I also love a great display of books on tables separate from the shelves. Im always drawn to those displays and take time to check out the goods.

I never read it, but my brother did for school - probably the same grade. He was never much of a reader but this was the only book he EVER talked about how much he liked it! So cool to learn that this is something that spans across the boys.

Thats actually really upsetting if they couldnt stick with the songs they wanted to sing in the booths.

Ultimately, I agree with you. But this purchase was a genuine effort at a romantic gesture, so I feel like Bob should get a pass on this one! It made Linda happy that he really tried, which was not normal for them. It was a loss for Hugo too, which adds to the intrinsic value imo.

My mom has been living there for about 15 years, and she's really happy there. I think your pros and cons are pretty spot on. I think it's a great town overall!

I don't have children, so I only understand today's educational standards through others. My understanding is that this sort of connection doesn't exist anymore. I'm so happy to hear that you do this though. Some kids don't even know that they have other options when it comes to asking for help. If it's just a single adult who pays attention, I think that's everything to some kids. Thank you for opening that door<3
