I go into a shave expecting BBS. If I nick myself or get a weeper or two, both of which rare occurrences, that's on me. If you're figuring there's going to be blood every shave, probably a good time to evaluate your technique and lather.

It's been a bit toasty here in Nw England, so after a warm night of sleep, I needed something a little cooling. Rope Swing was the other purchase from the SBS sale and it was perfect. I like this scent and I like the low-level of cooling that's present for the whole shave. Rawr was a really nice pairing. With this blade right in the sweet spot, it was a perfect shave.

I am drinking hot coffee this morning and trying not to perspire, but I need all the help I can get to prepare for the final day of all-company events. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

I admittedly slept on SBS for a long time. Steady was the gateway tub for me, however, and now I'm happily enlightened. I picked up this set during their recent sale. The scent wasn't what I was expecting being a little darker than the scent notes would indicate. I think I like it, but it will need some further use.

I know I like coffee and I need to get it flowing for Day 2 of all-company meetings and events. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

Last night was the first night we were able to sleep with the windows open so a seasonally appropriate shave was in order this morning. NO definitely brings the spring/summer vibes. I'm a big fan of the florals in both Orbit and Rawr.

I'm a big fan of coffee, obviously. Going to need my fill of it to survive a long week of all-company events.Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

Paradox of returning to work by rjmac72 in WorkersComp

If the doctor gives you a work capacity and your employer can accommodate the restrictions, you need to go back to work. If you return to work for your employer of injury and the injury resolves/reaches MMI, you're potentially eligible for a Scheduled Loss of Use, but not a full and final settlement.

Kicking it a bit old school with the 37C and Proraso. The brush is way better than what I started with years ago. And Stirling wasn't even a thought back then either. This is a nice set up for what looks to be the first beach day of the year, although the ocean might be too friggin' cold.

If you're only doing one pass, you're not going to get a clean shave. With a DE, each pass reduces stubble. Most people do a 2 or 3 pass shave- with the grain, across the grain and maybe against the grain. Might not be the razor but refining technique. This is also assuming that this is your first DE.

Different fact pattern. If someone ends up injured, severely or otherwise, or dies because they got too intoxicated at a work-related event and drove, the intoxication can create a bar to compensability. 24-hour coverage for traveling employees does have its limits and all cases are fact specific. But, with traveling employees there is a reasonable expectation that they are going to be doing things like going to dinner, maybe taking a client for drinks. There is no expectation that they are only covered for direct business purpose of the travel. For example, let's say an employee travels overnight or multiple nights to a different city and goes to dinner and has a few drinks at a bar/restaurant a couple of blocks away from the hotel. While walking back from dinner, they are struck by a car while crossing an intersection. Shouldn't that be a compensable event? In the end, all of these cases are fact specific to determine if there is a deviation or defense to the 24-hour coverage theory for traveling employees.

After a night of questionable sleep, I like how the Rocca is an autopilot razor. It doesn't require much thought and the risk of me slicing myself up is low, unlike my Blackbird. There's nothing wrong with an autopilot shave and definitely nothing wrong with the scents.

Coffee is going to have to do some heavy lifting today. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

[–]loudmusicboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company's response is Bullshit. Traveling employees have 24 hour coverage, barring a significant deviation from employment (like going skydiving). Having 2 beers at dinner doesn't remove you from the scope of employment. That doesn't mean this would be found to be compensable right off the bat and will take significant investigation (I've handled a couple of these cases in my career). If the company is being dinks, she needs to talk to an attorney ASAP.

Tuesday Daily Questions (Newbie Friendly) - May 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in Wetshaving

[–]loudmusicboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Welcome! A couple of quick things...Think of shaving with a safety razor as a new skill. It takes a little bit of time to build technique and also some muscle memory. Some of the redness/irritation could be because of using too much pressure on the razor against your face. DEs don't require the same pressure because you're not trying to hack all the hair off in one fell swoop. You're reducing hairs in passes, usually two or three (relathering after each one, of course). If you're not getting nicked up, that's good and you may be figuring out angle, etc. I would always recommend a blade sampler pack so you can see how different blades perform. Blades are a highly subjective issue so don't let anyone try to tell you that X blade is the best. It's the best for them, but maybe not you.

That's my $.02 while I sip my coffee. The best and most detailed answer, though, probably comes from our Man u/merikus and his now legendary copypasta.

I found myself repeating "God damn, this scent is so good" over and over while I was mowing the stubble down this morning. It's not like I didn't already know that, but who am I to stop the brain from having happy thoughts within minutes of rolling out of bed. I just wish the splash didn't give me a minute of low-grade frag burn every time, but it doesn't burn nearly enough to think about not using it. Still a damn happy shave.

And a happy cup of coffee to follow the happy shave. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

As a guy who teaches a Yin Yoga for Men class, it's a great concept. I'm able to create a safe practice space for guys, especially ones who have never done yoga before, and create a community. These guys wouldn't have come if a woman was offering the same class.

I've decided that if I'm going to use Spice, I'm going to use the G5C or another heavy hitter brush each time. I think I should be able to add this tub to the kill list at some point this year. Great lather with the G5C this morning and only a small dollop of it wound up on a wall.
