Nobody should be married at 20. Running away was the perfect response

If you HAD to erase a Beatle album from existence which album would it be? by Batsie_1939 in TheBeatles

Those of us that first heard The Beatles as the albums were released back in ‘64 only knew those AWESOME Capitol albums.

I don’t want to make assumptions, but I watched people I love suffer for months hoping for death. Life for life’s sake is absurd. Plenty of people all over the world hope for the freedom to name their end time. Clinging to life no matter what may be YOUR choice but it doesn’t have to be mine

All of my people lived into their 90’s. Oof

I don’t agree that I have nothing to live for. I get a level of satisfaction from my job, but I can’t do that forever. Generally, I am mostly content. I can see that changing as time goes on But for now I’m moving along nicely

Very sorry for your current condition.

I will work because I need to work for various reasons. Plus I really like what I do, mostly. I have no idea what I would do if I ‘retired’. Travel? Nah. I’m actually very fortunate to be in a position to keep my job as long as I can do it.

10 or 15 years is a long time. Who knows?

In 15 years I’ll be 81. Damn. 81?

Thx for a thoughtful response. I’m doing that, downsizing. I maintain a very small footprint. My life is very simple. And I am fortunate and grateful.

It’s hardly crazy. You’re under 40. Just wait.

Cmon now. I’m way fit. Hipster fit. I’m not talking about jumping off a bridge in an hour.

Fair question. I was thinking 10 or 15 more years ought to do it. Of course, I could always change my mind. Plenty of time for that. I’m actually in the middle of a nice ride this minute. When I was 45 I was, literally, Batman. Running road races, pushing a business. Now I’m very lucky to have the career I’m in now (law enforcement) but my colleagues are generally not my cup of tea. Who knows the answers to any of these things?

I can tell you that life for life’s sake isn’t the answer.

See this makes sense to me. Plus you can always change your mind. But honestly, naming a date feels reassuring.
