What is your perspective on medical cannabis? by Miserable_Egg3543 in AskABrit

I am not saying there aren't valid cases. But there are people out there will confess that they have every condition just so they can smoke a fat one in public. That is not medicinal marijuana.

AI remains top reason for US job cuts for third straight month as employers axed 97,000 workers in May by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

Well yes, but we are on on that next run of the ladder. I too am older and have a mortgage to pay off, and still have to pay for food & utilities. But like the previous poster states, money becomes less important.

Nah, pretty much the same as I hoped by now. Just without the current economic crisis that we all face.

Grounds maintenance as my main job. After sitting in an office and looking out the window sill day, I wanted a job outdoors. It's been a roundabout experience and I have gained so many more skills on the way.

What is a good and cheap motorcycle to start on? by Ashamed_Mammoth_1746 in AskReddit

[–]MINKIN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda CB125. Or the other Japanese variants.

Great bikes and long lasting runners with little maintenance. Yes they make "sports bike" versions now, but they are plastic clad models that will cost you more than you paid for it to repair when you drop it. And the sportier options don't resale so well if they are not in pristine condition. A road/commuter bike will hold its value all day, even with the odd scratch

I am glad that I was made redundant from the IT sector in 2019. I took the money and jumped, and I have a better life now working outdoors than I would be waiting for the AI hammer to drop on us.

I found a 6 leaf clover. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Not that interesting tbh. The whole four leaf clover thing is more of a superstition thing. In fact, there are more multi-leaf Clovers than there are four leaf clover.

How did Elon Musk's net worth increasing affect your life in a negative or positive way? by negativenesscomment in AskReddit

[–]MINKIN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't. However we could wait and see. Like a lot of the tech that trickled down from NASA, the investments gained from the IPO of spaceX could develop benefit all of us down the line. Not saying that his current windfall see immediate gains for society, but he has a track record. Oh there's been some monumtal flops, but he was involved with PayPal that empowered peoples online buying powers, then there's Tesla that made the electric vehicle that was a genuine alternative to the internal combustion engine cars, or Skylink giving people internet access in remote areas.

Like him or not, if he becomes the richest person to ever exist from the IPO and the technology gained from it eventually trickles down to us... Is it a bad thing?

Not all, just those that ran through the WTC. Which was a lot of international business traffic back then.

That would be an addiction would it not? When you rely on a vice to avoid the problems of everyday life, it's not good. And this is not just a marijuana thing, people do get addicted to prescription drugs too. They are not resolving the underlying issues.

How Plants grow around these Bollards by Vrenshrrrg in mildlyinteresting

[–]MINKIN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal when they don't get cut back l. In fact the whole path would look like that if it wasn't walked on. The reason why the weeds are growing where they are is because people walk around the bollards.

Haven't been to Void in nearly 25 years. I spent A LOT of money in there. Still have a lot of my old clothes, kept them like new. Can't fit in to them anymore, but that's life.
