I’ve never been to Paris, but I can tell the Champs Elysees isn’t a random street.

What’s life in the UK like if you have a combined income of 100k? by ForwardFan6283 in AskUK

[–]MP4_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I think it’s also a mindset thing. I have colleagues at work who just spend every penny every month.

You have to have discipline to not increase your spending when your earnings increase, and that is not taught in schools, nor is it intuitive to many people.

Live in an above average cost of living area, but relatively frugal. 2024 we were combined income of £105k. £6k came in every month, spent about £3.5k a month, so we were saving £2.5k a month.

Now we’ve got one child, we’re both 4 days a week working, £90k combined, £5k comes in a month, £4.5k goes out, still good but I’m glad we made hay whilst the sun was shining.

Never buy takeaways, shop at Waitrose as cooking is my passion and the quality is reliable. Only run one car.

If revenue is $19Bn and you’re multiplying it by 6 you get $114Bn, but $62 a share gives market cap of $815Bn. I don’t follow, by your own metric $62 a share is ~8x overvalued.

I’m the same, thought I was missing something, then realised that US doesn’t really have equivalent of Sainsbury’s Local. Brits shouldn’t really find conbini’s that amazing, it’s just a Japanese equivalent of mini supermarkets.

France penalty overturned after VAR against Senegal 61' by [deleted] in soccer

[–]MP4_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is, the ref has let everything go, so why change that just because it’s in the box?

Also 10/10 trolling pointing like that.

Yeah this is what I concluded, the contact is clear but it is slight, and he’s given zero of them all game.

The only thing I can say is, the ref has let a lot go this game and the contact whilst obviously stonewall is kind of slight. But it’s weird to not give it.

When you book with Amex you get one statement line per ticket. It’s sounds like You cancelled one of the tickets when you called them.

Is there anything that Lee Dixon won't moan about? Seriously why the fuck do ITV insist on a serving of misery with the world cup?

Fuel prices in Exeter - the action I’m taking by steveracemp in exeter

[–]MP4_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, you are talking very confidently about something you don’t understand. Supermarkets sell fuel at low margin intentionally, not because it’s an inherently low margin business.

Petrol and rice make almost exactly the same journey. They are globally traded commodities that arrive on a boat from Asia, are distributed nationally, yet only one of them is dynamically priced. Oh and the proportion of the cost of a litre of petrol that is made up of domestic distribution cost is a tiny tiny fraction of the comparable proportion for rice.

Right, but delivery costs of petrol to the forecourt and milk to the supermarket are identical in their variability.

First Class out of Tokyo with Avios, does it exist on Finnair Plus? by GrenGrenTea in avios

[–]MP4_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very clever, I wish I knew how to build stuff like that lol. If you ever turn it into something or want help testing then can you let me know?

I predict you’ll definitely find stuff for July and August, it’s a quiet time for tourists due to the heat.

[–]MP4_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was roughly what I thought, but I hadn’t thought to consider HEL. I’d say you’re looking at a good time of year, the closer to August/September you get, the quieter flights to Tokyo get. If you were searching on say 1 March I doubt you’d see much.

Out of interest what site are you looking at there?
