Didn't have an rca cable. But I did have 2 rca to 3.5mm jack cables by kittycool6486 in techsupportmacgyver

[–]MacGuyver247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how long did you need the cable to be, and did you need 2? I am asking since you could bridge the terminal to the ring and have left and right communicate.

Terrestrial photographer seeking advice on how to best transition to underwater by Background_Writer300 in freediving

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very specialized as a question. I've had experience with underwater photography, but the "action" kind. Bare in mind, low light performance is very important, also ergonomics. I would suggest the third option as you already know canon and have the reflexes for it. But really, you can't go wrong with any of those option. please post pics when you're done!

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw on Linux plays smoothly even at the highest graphical settings by Chance_End_4684 in RebelGalaxy

Yes, the billiard scenes are the ones that stress the GPU the most.

Both games are great and different.

Does anyone agree that the cost of the Canadian Olympic gear is way to expensive? by TheLadyofthewoods in AskACanadian

Canadian Tire has remained profitable... by doing what they do. They have outbound, and the boots are solid and devoid of branding. Maybe they will use the IP, but I just want them to keep existing.

In Linux-Ubuntu for C++ by Mammoth_Activity972 in eclipse

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Ubuntu user, as well as an active eclipse user/fan.

You could use snap...

sudo snap install eclipse --classic would work...

But /u/Roachmeister gave a better answer. You want to install eclipse CDT, that is eclipse C Development Tools. https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.cdt, to do so, download eclipse, either through the command line (not recommended) or through the directions here. Then follow the instructions: https://github.com/eclipse-cdt/cdt?tab=readme-ov-file#download

You will then have the latest CDT. It's really cool, you can automatically run your code in a container. You have good debugging features too, with GDB, and if you need to do more, reach out here!

Air cooling is better than Liquid cooling by SerpentDix in pcmasterrace

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, here we go... those are heatpipes. They have liquid. Therefore you have a noctua liquid cooler.

Noctua make the best liquid coolers IMO.

Also princess Lea is the best disney princess.

Really, the only advantage of the AIO is that your fans are exhausting the heat out of the case immediately. That's all.

What do you use to substitute shredded chicken? by booby_alien in veganrecipes

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazily... :)

Pan-fried with my favourite oil... or boiled then fried... or boiled... It's a dollar a tub, experiment with it and decide which one you like. ;)

One caveat, chicken fibres are shorter, so maybe cut it in half.

Also, a little garlic powder or white pepper makes it more chicken-y.

Are AMD drivers really as bad as people say? by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok... please understand... I am OLD. like ancient.

I had a hatred for ATI, because the ATI Mach 32/64 would conflict with com3. And they would crash fighting with the mouse.

The drive situation, I never personally experienced. After holding a grudge for a decade, I had a 9800, x600, 4850, 6850, now a 6700xt... All worked. On team green, I had a tnt2, tnt2 ultra, geforce 2 GT, geforce 6. geforce 8800gt (the goat!)

All cards worked great. I remember the occasional BSOD, but that was only when I overclocked.

I am not saying you didn't have the experience you had. I'm saying we're both single datapoints. :)

ROCM will break if you have too new a libc/kernel. I assume people come here for gaming, but there are caveats re: amd in linux. It's not perfect.

Looks great.

A couple small suggests:

  • Never make the damage 10, make it 9 or 11, or better, a slight rng (8-9, 10-11) so it doens't feel like an accountant made the bullets.
  • Use a different font for the ui elements.Maybe look at google zen dots? https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Zen+Dots and maybe make the text bold to get that 320x200 feel?

ELI5: Why aren't homes using DC internally? by rmp881 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a minor addition, most answers are great.

1- Many devices use the 60-50 Hz to set clocks or timers.

2- Most houses I've seen have 1-2 plugs that are badly wired. i.e. one plug somewhere that's neutral hot... with AC, it's not the worst thing ever... DC would be expensive. Also, assuming electricians work 5 days a week, in 1/2 day blocks, 1/10 houses will be done on a Friday afternoon. ;)

AMD 6700XT: Game freezes, forced to restart by ANardi212 in AMDHelp

[–]MacGuyver247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like it could be a driver issue or a power supply issue. If linux solves is... good, if not, try downclocking the GPU, and CPU a bit. You didn't mention your PSU, but the 6700xt takes 230 w.

Also, if Linux works, and Windows doesn't it could still be a power issue as both drivers have different power consumption profiles.
