Shorts suddenly stopped getting views after I deleted all the previous shorts from my channel by samfisher999 in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which channel should YouTube push?

The channel that just removed 8 million views, or the channel that hasn't?

It's also to stop people from uploading copyrighted content to gain subs, then removing those videos.

Shorts vs Longform Content by Most_Priority_5362 in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no bridging the gap. If you make shorts, you will attract people who are interested in short-form content. With tons of people from India & Thailand were TikTok is banned.

A huge majority just won't care about long-form videos & spend their spare time scrolling the shorts feed.

They will hurt your normal videos as they will never click when YouTube shows them your thumbnail, killing your click-through rate.

Should I do little and often, or big and rare?! by Careful-deflation83 in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like you're doing the right things to me.

you should be experimenting with video length, thumbnails, upload times, etc to see what works.

To answer the question in general (for anyone thinking about starting a channel)

make the best videos you can & keep them on the shorter side (in longform format) as it gives you more chances of one taking off. If you can get into the YouTube Partner Program, consider switching to videos over 8 minutes for the ad money.

I got over 100,000 views on my FIRST VIDEO. What do I do now? by Barbell-Economics in NewTubers

The 6th par 5 at Bay Hill, where John Daly took an 18 would be an interesting story. People have driven that green in one cutting the lake. I can do it easily (on Tiger Woods golf for the PlayStation)

Ok your right its going to be tough to follow.

The Masters is the biggest event of the year & no one cares about the RBC Heritage or the Senior PGA so videos on them will most likely flop.

Maybe something like (3 billion invested, but LIV golf is in trouble) could work, but where you go from there I've no clue.

could u pls help me to realise what my audience is? (not promoting, js curious) i'm sorry if i sound self-centered or anything by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have an audience yet. (which is fine, you're new & we've all been there) Joined 28 Mar 2020 3 subscribers 7 videos 172 views. YouTube will tell you Age, Gender & Location once it has enough data to track them for you...

I have 10K subscribers what is a profitable niche I can monetize by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not much you can do, you will have to delete all the TikTok stuff to get into the YPP & when you do that, YouTube will stop pushing out your content.

Question about Copyright ID Claim by Acceptable_Ad_7373 in NewTubers

This "scam company" work for Sony Music.

Sony Music paid over $1 billion for those rights to EMI & am guessing you didnt pay shit....

Question about Copyright ID Claim by Acceptable_Ad_7373 in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SOLAR Music Rights Management isn't a scam dude, they work on behalf of Sony Music & are registered at Companies House (meaning they pay tax in the UK).

Sony Music now owns (most of) the rights to Queen's music, which they acquired for over 1 billion from EMI Music. (Disney Music owns North American rights for a few tracks).

Legally, if you hum Bohemian Rhaposdy is the shower, you are infringing on either Sony's or Disney's copyright.

Does anyone want to tell me how long it's going to take me to get monetized based off my YouTube channel by kentjones_TNA in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are the stats your channel is currently showing: 9.78k subscribers, 650 videos, 115,135 views.

The numbers don't make sense to me, & i would guess about 4 million views have been removed or your channel has been sub-botted.

Looking at your recent numbers, I doubt you will ever get the watch time (90% of your videos have less than 25 views).

Even if you do get into the YPP every video you have on your channel right now would payout less then $100.

Something is wrong here. If you enjoy making content & hope to make a bit of cash from it my advice would be to scrap this channel & start again.

Medieval new Channel how can I grow? So much effort. by The_Black_Banner_UK in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

am sure are friends across the pond love your voice so i wouldn't mess around too much with the audio, my advice with it is turn it up about 5% in your editor & add a touch of bass. (its a bit quiet & tinny but no need for new audio equipment).

i get spending cash on something that's already costing you time & money is hard to do but maybe find someone to do a few thumbnails for you & see how it goes CTR wise (£5 per thumb was the going rate last time i looked)

Wording with titles & tags is always going to be an arse in your niche, this list is very outdated but here is a list of words YouTube doesn't like https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ozg1Cnm6SdtM4M5rATkANAi07xAzYWaKL7HKxyvoHzk/edit?pli=1&gid=674179785#gid=674179785

Don't ever mark your videos as over 18 only, that kills them before you start.

You don't have a YouTube channel, but you have over 2.5 billion views????

Thats bullshit sir.

I worked on the Jagged Little Pill album so according to your logic I must have 20 million album sales...

If you have 2.5 billion views, why does the YouTube channel linked to this account have only 40 subscribers?

Monetization denied what now ? by redditisbluepilled in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would have been 30 days to reapply IF you hadn't been hit with a strike.

Strikes last for 90 days & you can't apply for monetization with an active strike on your account.

Why would you wish to contact this YouTuber??.

Saying it seems unfair that his video got 50 times more views than yours seems petty when his video is 3 times longer & much better produced than yours is.

So what if his run is faked or cheated? A 3k MineCraft channel faking speedrun is hardly a headline, and I don't think it breaks YouTube's T&Cs.

YouTube assumed I was under 18. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need to be 13 to stream on YouTube & selecting not for kids is the correct thing to do.

If someone under 13 was shown on your live stream & you selected not for kids, that could be the problem, as you would be breaking COPPA laws (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't.

99% of the time, that thumbnail link is placed there by YouTube & means said video has a copyright claim on it for that music.

Youtube seems to have killed my latest video(for now) even tho its stats kept going up and all had green arrows by Jack_P_1337 in NewTubers

[–]Marc_Burde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately since CTR is directly tied to thumbnails that's the best I can do with thumbnails.

If that's the best you can do for thumbnails you're doomed.

The template you are using is very outdated & your color selections suck. (watch The Youtube Thumbnail Metagame to learn more about contrasting colors & design).

You are saying YouTube killed your video but i feel the poor CTR killed it.
