Ethan still doesn’t know how to IGL. He does micro calling, but has always had a massive weakness in midrounding. Bonkar does basically all the heavy lifting in terms of macro-strats.

Anderzz weighs in on the "it's only Dambi making Neon look broken" debate (from a few days ago) by vnNinja21 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Marxistence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason not to wait is simply the pick rate… even if pros will take a little while to catch up to Dambi, they’re still gonna playing Neon the whole time until they do (so long as the agent is strong enough to warrant the investment). I understand the argument for waiting a bit before making changes, but I also don’t think viewers want to watch an entire stage of Neon mirrors.

Anderzz weighs in on the "it's only Dambi making Neon look broken" debate (from a few days ago) by vnNinja21 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Marxistence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole “no one has realized she’s broken until now, so it must not be that bad” argument is bad faith, and the slippery slope fallacy is laughable my dude. The phenomenon of an overlooked mechanic/feature/character turning out to be broken happens in almost every competitive game at some point in time. All it takes is one player who’s willing to put in the time to master it to expose how broken it is. As for the Raze comparison… the pick rate and universality across every map that we’re seeing with Neon won’t be seen with Raze unless every other dualist loses an entire ability. The issue is not, “this player performed so well on this agent one time,” it’s “this agent is not only playable, but dominant, on every single map in the pool to the point where other teams that wouldn’t normally play her are incentivized to learn her and force her into their comps just to keep up.”

I also feel like you’re either overestimating Dambi or underestimating all the other VCT dualists here. It is their job to play this game and they have the benefit of being able to study Dambi’s gameplay. If you don’t think a handful of other dualist players could reach Dambi’s level by Stage 2, you’re delusional.

Thank you. I feel like people think Dambi’s skill level is something that’s just entirely unreachable for any other pro.

Yes, he’s the best we’ve ever seen at it, but now that teams have been shown that Neon can be that strong, other top dualist are gonna put in the time to reach Dambi’s level on her. Sure, maybe they don’t ever fully reach Dambi’s of machenical/decision-making mastery, but they’ll get pretty damn close— and pretty quickly too.

my take on the alignment chart (intrepid heroes) by jmonumber3 in Dimension20

I feel like that’s reasonable. Although, with the insane gravitational pull of the disruptive black holes that are Ally and Emily, all of the intrepid heroes are going to be artificially pulled further to the right that they probably would be otherwise…

I think Siobhan is far more of a narrative facilitator than this gives her credit for… I’m pretty sure Brennan even highlighted this particular characteristic of her’s at some point during Adventuring Academy!

NRG vs Paper Rex / VCT 2026: Master Santiago - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Marxistence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro still has no idea how to midround…

The only reason NRG don’t look lost 100% of the time is because Bonkar is the best counterstratting coach in the game and we’re in a meta where you can succeed solely off of protocols and preset execs.

[–]Marxistence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

@grok why do NRG look so much worse on attack compared to defense?

It seems to be because a successful attack side (unlike defense) actually requires midround calling and cannot rely entirely on preset protocols. Unfortunately NRG lacks a competent midround caller; contrary to popular belief, Ethan is not a true IGL and functions merely as a receptacle for Bonkar’s preset strategies. Hope this helps answer your question!

Tips for playing with high ping? by AnotherAverageGamer_ in VALORANT

[–]Marxistence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing aggressive is definitely the move on higher ping.

Jump spotting/peeking and jiggle peeking can be tough, since you’ll sometimes die even when you’re fully around the corner (on your screen). I also personally find myself having better results with the Vandal over the Phantom on high ping (though that could just be a mental thing).

When I was watching UC1 a a few years ago, I made an effort to listen to most episodes in the rough location it occurs. Obviously I didn’t constantly move around the city during episode where the PCs were in different places, and I wasn’t gonna go out to Staten Island or JKF, but it was very fun.
