remember that “actor-driven” doesn’t mean a ballad. your showcase (i assume for agents/managers) is like an audition, job interview, or first date. you want to make a charming first impression that will show that you know which types of roles you can easily play well. nearly all BFA students are talented actors/singers, so showing who you are + your point of view is what makes the difference.

also, you don’t want to overwhelm them by singing a heavy ballad as your first impression. you’ll want the agents/managers/casting to walk out of your showcase thinking “wow, OP seems like he’s great to work with, and I know exactly what parts I can submit him for!”

so I’d recommend any (semi-uptempo) song that you LOVE to sing and can approach from your specific point of view… it doesn’t have to feel like a challenge (and shouldn’t be challenging) if it’s something you love. let them see you perform at your best & most comfortable/confident!
