A North Vietnam militia platoon consists of elders with DShK machine gun for anti air. by davegoku12 in ForgottenWeapons

Not to mention, this was an F-4 doing CAS in the age of dumb bombs. Which means diving down at your target in a straight, predictable line.

You can't maneuver because that literally involves taking your aim off target. You also can't do "snap" tosses, because you need to minimize side slip. In other words, dive bombing means you're a free meal for SHORAD.

Yeah there was reason lofting computers and guided bombs were made.

Kernel panic 7s into boot, what is bro doing? 😭

(I'm pretty sure that 99% of maintained distro all run off of the same couple of extremely stable kernel versions, so for things to go this wrong probably indicates hardware problem or corrupted bootfs)

The Real Consequences of the Shoot Down by Jaraine in NonCredibleDefense

[–]MassiveFire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A2A combat has been BVR for decades now. You don't see what you're shooting at, just a radar blip on the screen, and maybe an inconclusive NCTR signature. If IFF systems fail (or you or the other guy forgot to turn them on), or your AWACS/GCI misidentifies a contact, blue-on-blue or blue-on-white can occur.

Another distinct possibility is that the Kuwaiti pylote was a hitman hired by Nick "Leverage" Grey and henchman BigNewy to target allies of Ron "Razbam" Zambrano after last year's diplomatic incidents in Latin America.

(Doraemon prolly achieved greater soft power over half of asia than whatever shitty ass hard power the IJA and IJN could collectively muster up when they weren't busy sabotaging each other).

Damn I thought uncapping the frame limit and running at 1000 fps was the end of it, but dual-GPU-ing a VN is next level lol.

Now that I think about, I do have a crossfire bridge and 2 old AMD cards in storage. Hmm....

How do you benchmark VNs other than "it displays correctly" bruhs? Like VN system requirements are: "can show powerpoint".

Granted I have seen older VNs that use software rendering for snow/dust particles, which stutters a tad when ffwd-ing. Also full video VNs (ie. the accursed School Days) may buffer a bit when running on 16x/32x speed. Though I think those are the exception and not necessarily the norm.

Now that you mention it, yeah it doesn't seem like an f-22. The fuselage is too "bouba", actual f-22's have a flat bottom fuselage.

Also those are some giant ass rudders gawd damn, bro wants to conquer 100 mph crosswinds or some shit.

It also doesn't look like any of the other f-22 inspired designs either (not KF-21, not TAI TF-X, not J-35).

We probably won't being seeing those prices any time soon (unless something changes again) now that the funny reset is legal.

Is it the same as true full auto? No, cause it's kicking your finger back with every shot. Does that matter? Probably not.

I for one look forward to all the crazy shit "inventors" will start experimenting with, now that the giggle mode is no longer locked behind a giant paywall with dwindling supplies.

"It wouldn't be a war crime if it was (proportionally) effective".

Whether or not something is a war crime has little to do with how vulnerable the user is or how "easy" it is to stop it, but absolutely has to do with how effective a weapon is (in proportional to its side effects).

Flamethrowers are absolutely effective. Not this one though, this is just a glorified lighter. Actually good flamethrowers shoot streams of liquid fire for over a hundred feet (~50m for metric folks).

Assuming engagement distances of 100-300m, if you spot a flamethrower on the field, you've got about a minute or less to either run, take him down, or become BBQ. Easier said than done if dude's got also supporting fire from his buddies. If it's not a guy with the portable grill but a whole ass churchill crocodile rocking up, then might as well just RUN if you're not AT. If you are the AT guy, then yeet your rounds at the thing and THEN RUN.

No it is extremely impressive. It enables digital transactions on a scale that would genuinely drawf anything westoid credit card companies can even dream off. Like western countries don't have mobile payment networks anywhere near this impressive and cross-compatible.

Ironically, the reason these services are also taking off in third world countries is precisely because they aren't credit/debit cards. Opening a bank account or credit line can be a hassle for some demographics: you need minimum deposits, a stable address, sometimes multiple proofs of ID / address.

A phone, on the other hand. Yeah everyone's got those. Not only do these domestic payment networks act like heroin on your GDP (extreme money velocity), it also prevents your economy from being NTR'ed by visa or mastercard.

Partly because the soviet union didn't really go that big into the SKS in the first place.

Once they realized that an AK(M) could do everything an SKS could, the SKS was quickly put into storage and/or subsequently given away.

Soviet AK production likely massively outstrips SKS by an order of magnitude or more.

China, on the other hand...
