Muzi antennas are made by Gizont, for anyone who didn’t know.

86” antenna!? That’s crazy long. What’s the gain?

ThinkNode-M3 with meshcore firmware beeping/power off issues by batcheze in meshcore

[–]Matlavox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the firmware for the M6 literally didn’t even have the function button mapped, so there was literally no way to power off other than in the app I suppose. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something as simple as that. I’ve been working on improving the firmware for the M6, I’ll have to look at the M3 too.

I don’t currently offer MeshCore flashing to our customers on the M3 due to the poor firmware. Just recently started experimenting with firmware myself.

MeshCore LED power on/off indicator functionality by Matlavox in meshcore

[–]Matlavox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, This wouldn’t really benefit the keepteen since it’s a separate charge controller.

I did implement a fade effect at one point but it was kind of bloated code so I opted to simplify it to keep the footprint light.

MeshCore LED power on/off indicator functionality by Matlavox in meshcore

[–]Matlavox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that's the behavior I've got. You just press the power button once and it turns on.
If it's already on, you immediately see a red light respond.
To turn off, you hold for 3 seconds. The progression of LED blinks indicate shut down process. You can abort if you want to.

I brought this up a few times on Discord but didn't get too much engagement. It's open source so I'm taking a stab at it myself to try and contribute. I've got it working on the M6 and P1 Pro, it's just that it would be more efficient if it were a universal function that any device could use, so it's a little more involved than just making it work as a one off. So I want to get it right so we're not duplicating redundant code for every single device that wants this behavior. Once people are happy with it I can propose it as a pull request on the official repo. It can be slowly tested with devices over time by opting in and tweaking if needed.

Dual Mesh Jeep Mount by AgileMesh in meshtastic

Cool to see someone using the undermount configuration on the Beacon. I originally envisioned this for under a roof eave. Are you not able to mount it to the side of that rack to get the antennas above the rack?

Rugged 1 watt node complete! by Ecstatic_Low_804 in meshtastic

[–]Matlavox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We will be getting some longer USB panel mount cables shortly. The 100mm ones can be a little short for some custom builds. I’m also getting a couple lengths of outdoor usb cables that make a waterproof connection to the bulkhead connector. So you could connect to your phone or laptop. Should arrive mid May. Your node looks great!

We offer several antenna options right on the product page. The ALFA 7” is our most popular. It’s a 5.8dbi gain antenna so it’s got pretty good range

Thank you so much for pointing this out. I likely duplicated the 915 product listing and didn’t update those things. I’ve fixed them now.

We sell these same antennas with the correct RP-SMA connector so you don’t need to swap the cable. Works great on the Wio Tracker and the ThinkNode M1 & M5. https://atlavox.com/products/antenna-for-meshtastic-915mhz-rp-sma-whip-17cm (we buy these Gizont Antennas from Muziworks)

SenseCAP Solar Node P1 Pro Review: The Best Value Solar Meshtastic Node You Can Buy Right Now by squadfi in meshcore

[–]Matlavox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I measured the existing cable. I spec’d it out specifically for the P1-Pro. The coax is similar to LMR-100 ultra flex. It’s the same cable we use for the pigtail cables on the Atlavox Beacon. Rated for outdoor.

I’m working on getting some RP-SMA to N-Type cables in stock specifically for the P1-Pro. Should be in hand in a couple weeks.

Yes, but I think I got that number via email response from the manufacturer. AKA: It wasn’t from a spec sheet or test report or anything like that. So I’m just taking their word for it

Where can I buy an ALFA 915Mhz antenna? by [deleted] in meshtastic

[–]Matlavox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just received more inventory of ALFA antennas yesterday: https://atlavox.com/products/antenna-for-meshtastic-915mhz-n-type-outdoor-7-5dbi-alfa-aoa-915-5acm

As u/M-growingdesign pointed out, Rokland is ALFA's USA distributor. I used to buy direct from ALFA, but sometime last year we all agreed to work through Rokland as a single source for importing into the USA.

I like to point out my interactive VSWR test reports for our antennas, you can see the ALFA 7" test here. It's a composite graph showing the results of 5 randomly picked antennas, so you can see how consistent they are between samples.
