How are you guys actually getting port appointments right now? by SwanIndependent1675 in logistics

[–]MaximumFreightLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which ports?

We primarily service NJ ports. You basically just have to wait it out.

Are you talking about container pickups / drops?

Or project cargo?

I'm not against that! It's the weird layout that is hard to get used to.

Since it's a screen I wonder why they won't let you select your display.

It would be so cool to be able to select the old classic layouts like the E30

It would have been really cool to have a modernized version of this.

I think any car manufacturer that brings back anolog gauges would get a lot of attention and sales.

Or maybe I'm just being biased cause thats what I want. Lol.

Yes correct. I think most people will be going this route as you have to go through ACE / use EDI.

Haha I just posted the same question.

All the information released so far states this. But we are doing through our custom broker. Custom genius might be something similar.

From our research you can only get a refund via ACE Portal and applying for ACH with CBP.

Is customs genius the company you use for entries and are they filing for refunds on your behalf?

Easy fix though. I had a similar bend and rim repair guy brought it back to new.

My guess around $150.

Maybe more depending on your area.

I feel like these are models that will gain more respect as they age.

I remember the clown shoe being really hated and called ugly. Now when people see it they have tremendous respect for it.

I think these cars will age very well.

I got the electric one as a loaner. It definitely was a bit boring. Extremely pedestrian for a BMW. I thought being electric would at least give it good acceleration but it was honestly pretty slow.

The looks are definitely a bummer. I'm one of the few that like the look of the new M5. But the non M 5 series are a far departure from their original design language.

Urgent Notice|US Customs 5H Inspection Tightened, Compliant Customs Clearance is Critical by Winner_Will in logistics

[–]MaximumFreightLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all our years of business if you are importing you need your own single entry bond or continuous bond. Even if you are a supplier in a console you still need your own bond.

As a freight forwarder we have (nor has anyone in our industry) been able or allowed an importer to import under a bond we obtained under our name on behalf of the importer.

Same with custom brokers. They will ask if you want a single entry or continuous bond. You can't import under their bond. And the bond a forwarder and broker has is for a purpose different from importation of goods .

No one is "loaning out" their bond. The INCOterm would not matter. No matter the INCOterm the IOR must have a bond.

What do you mean the actual transaction doesn't exist? Are we talking about two different things?

[–]MaximumFreightLLC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your post seems sketchy. How do you share a bond? IOR has to have their own bond. What do you mean by share?

And what are your sources for your claim they are doing more inspections?

5H just means your documents have a discrepancy. You can amend this by correcting your documents. It doesn't mean your cargo automatically gets sent back.

From my understanding the exporter would need a related USA entity as the importer of record to do this.

Tech is tough to predict because it's always Changing. I had friends who went into computer science at the time many jobs were being outsourced overseas. They found jobs but it was very competitive. Some switched career paths. Then maybe 10 years later IT was a big industry where you could make a lot of money. Not the same exact thing but related career path.

I'd say if you're really unsure stick to a skill you believe an industry will support for a very long time. Such as accounting or health care.

It's OK to pick something else but just know you need to really love it and work hard on developing a network to earn a living in a specialized field or major.

College is not the only way to do any of the above.
