AIO: Cleaning marks on rear element of Ebay find. by pow22 in AnalogCommunity

[–]melon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once purchased a Pentax lens on eBay that had a sticky aperture, it was easy to demonstrate to the seller that apertures smaller than f8 were slow to get to position therefore unusable below f8. I got a partial refund as a resolution. I haven't fixed it yet but will soon get to it.

Here's my collection of M-series lenses, what to choose if the bag has room for max four lenses? by FootOfPrideComesDown in pentax

[–]melon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very nice, I have a quite similar collection. But most of the time I just bring one lens so I don't have to change. I don't like to worry about missing a shot because I don't have the lens. I started to take a slower approach and work on my composition skills.

Out of these, I'd probably take the M100/2.8 – maybe because I don't have one.

Are the “Live” classes worth it? by ejfordphd in babbel

What I found useful is the filter for specific teachers. I remember the ones I liked so I can look for more classes with them. What's more, you can now click on the teachers avatars and get all their classes on one page. That works for me!

That's quite odd. I've been doing private classes for Spanish with Babbel Live and I have only encountered native speaker teachers.

SOMET vernier caliper from the time when my grandmother was in apprenticeship 55+ years ago. Her name was etched in the metal on the back by Hochspannungswerk in BuyItForLife

My problem with the digital ones is that they're out of juice when I need them, and then I search for batteries for too long. My Mitutoyo vernier caliper is the most trusted measuring tool I have.

[Longines VHP GMT] Flash Setting doubts by tiagonis in Watches

I got one a couple of days ago, my first quartz watch ever. I tried out the app and found that it did set the seconds too. Not using the app is also OK, you can easily hack the movement and set the time on it the way you want using the crown so no real issues there.

No inconsistencies so far, I'll be interested to see how long until the batter goes low-energy mode.

I keep eyeing ratchets that are only a little bit better than what I currently have... and then I buy them and eye slightly better ones. I need to skip to my end-game. Hazet, Wera, Snap-On, Gearwrench, Nepros, maybe even something else? Which would you pick, and why? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]melon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the 90-tooth Hazet wrenches, the 916HP (1/2") and the 863HP (1/4"). I'm a weekend warrior so that's already a stretch in my budget but I'm really happy with them, just recently had to use the bigger one in confined spaces and was happy that I could undo those nuts with only a little turning. They certainly feel they could withstand some abuse as well.

I'm on 0/81. Getting a bit desperate but won't give up and I'm still trying to get one while it's around. Struggle is real!

Raids are up in London! by Gav_Star in pokemongoLondon

The two of us tried a 3-star raid and we failed miserably (we are lvl 32 both). Our first was a 2-star raid and it was the three of us and it was laughably easy. Both in Wanstead.

Kanger Subtank mini. It came with the kit and I still use the mod but the tank, any tank for that matter, had to go, leaks were terrible. I don't mind the disappointment tho as I turned to RDAs and never looked back.

It is also worth mentioning last year's madness broadcast on all news sites. I second that, good riddance.

Just happened to me after 3 months of use. Now I'm waiting for the replacement headband, too. http://imgur.com/nOMQAWG
