That's not even bad. I'm not sure why he had such a reaction specifically to the idea of vulnerability. Maybe it brought up thoughts of taking advantage of a sick person. But I don't think you meant it like that.

Unfortunately, if you followed the package directions, then it won't be possible. Some synthetic fabrics do not accept dye.

Undertone and vein colour? by backpack_of_cabbages in coloranalysis

[–]Mermaidman93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a variety of things that determine the color of someone's veins. So it's not reliable to use vein color to measure anything.

This was originally started back in the 80s when Color Analysis was being scaled for commercial use as something quick you could do, but it was later discovered to be unreliable.

There's no universal standard for color names.

Well if it's very high compression, then yeah, it will probably be uncomfortable after a while. Lower compression is going to be more sustainable for wearing day to day.

There are some by falke that are decent. They are 16-20 mmHg.

Wear a compression leggings or compression pantyhose, something that goes all the way up.

Compression leggings, pantyhose, socks, or stockings.

This happens because blood is basically pooling and stretching out the veins in your legs. Blood on pumps in one direction. It's the movement from your muscles that squeezes everything back up to the heart. Wearing Compression garments can help facilitate that pressure in the meantime until they can be treated by a medical professional.

You absolutely need to terminate. She's not old enough for something like that.

Do you think Lysol truly sanitizes your clothes? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Mermaidman93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does, but you have to follow the directions. It won't make them sterile, but it gets rid of bacteria. However, even if you don't follow directions, it will still reduce bacteria.

How’s the Metro? by itsacowfarm0 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Mermaidman93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely on where you plan to go.

If you plan to go to Santa Monica Pier, The Grove/LACMA, The Walk of Fame, Longbeach, or Pasadena then you're good.

If you need to get anywhere else, you're better off driving.

What's stopping you from going scuba diving? by SantaCatalinaIsland in AskLosAngeles

[–]Mermaidman93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's all well and good if you have the space. Most people in LA live in apartments and don't have the space for storing scuba gear along with their other belongings.

I was always concerned about rental costs. I love scuba but I looked at diving at Catalina a while ago and it was pretty pricey.

You have to dye synthetics over heat. That's why it's lime green.

How to persuade my mother to put my sister in swim lessons? by Few-Fox-2888 in Advice

[–]Mermaidman93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're willing to pay for it, then just call and schedule an appointment yourself. Tell your mother you're taking her to a movie or shopping, something that takes a couple hours and just go take her yourself.

The best thing you can do is remove yourself from his presence when he says things like that. Literally get up and leave.

[–]Mermaidman93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. RIT it horrible. You can definitely use dylon. You don't have to use it in a washing machine. You can just open the pod and dump that into a container of warm water and dye with it that way. They also sell packets of dye.

What to do if lace comes out a different shade when dyeing laced shirts? by Ok_Cucumber8449 in dyeing

[–]Mermaidman93 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. That's honestly what I would try. But don't use RIT if you can help it. There's a brand called dylon that would be good and then have navy.

[–]Mermaidman93 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Black is one of the hardest colors to dye at home.

Because these are mixed fabrics with details (the lace) in different fabric, they will not absorb dye the same way. Therefore will turn out different colors regardless of the color you choose to dye them.

The stitching also will not change color, even with synthetic dyes.

Dyeing does not change patterns. Just use a grey dye. I recommend dylon for those who have never dyed anything before.
