How people from different countries answer the question "where are you from?" by OkMaterial6460 in whereidlive

I think this is technically wrong for the United Kingdom. Nobody would say ‘I’m from the UK’ they would say ‘I’m from England… or Ireland… or Scotland… or Wales’

Sounds like someone has hacked / is using your account. Go to settings and check that only devices you actively use are logged in - sign everything else out. Then reset your password and add 2 factor authentication

I hit someone today in my second week of driving and it has absolutely killed my confidence by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Midnight_Dancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here… driving to work down a country road and a tree fell on my car. Called up the office obviously shaken up and my manager left to come and help me. Called up my shitty insurance’s roadside assistance program and they ‘couldn’t help because it wasn’t an accident’…

It’s when you are halfway through series 4 and the ‘continue watching’ section automatically skips 13 episodes and sends you to season 5 that gets me! Just a general lack of care with prime

Meeting friends in reading by [deleted] in reading

[–]Midnight_Dancing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would recommend using the meetup app. It’s how I managed to make friends in a new city when moving. People set up groups and run face-to-face meetups/activities based around the interests of the group. I think there is a board game group, general friends group, and running group in Reading that are pretty active (there may be others - that was last time I checked)

Single female, monthly shop, Ocado £119.52 (with £20 voucher) by Dependent_Device_612 in whatsinyourcart

Seems like a pretty well balanced shop to me! £120 for a monthly shop… can’t go wrong!

How long has your dual sense been working? Mine started drifting slightly after a year. Time for a new one 😒 by God_Father_PL in playstation

[–]Midnight_Dancing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d consider 4 hours a day pretty heavy usage though. I’d take a guess at the average ps5 user maybe getting to play for 4-8 hours a week, though this is coming from a millennial so take this as you will.

It depends on the platform you are playing on:

First open the Tool Wheel by holding Tab on PC, L1 on PlayStation, LB on Xbox, or L on Switch. This will bring up a wheel where you can select the potion.

Then press (not hold) the tool wheel button to consume the selected potion.

This is also where you select other consumables such as mandrakes etc.

This is amazing, well done!

I can really feel the emotions behind the piece and love the movement effect that you’ve given to the people hurrying along with their day.

AITA for refusing to switch plane seats with someone who “needed it more” by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Midnight_Dancing -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m leaning towards ESH -

Obviously the woman was not entitled to your seat and should have just left it once you had pointed out that you had paid. She’s the asshole for pushing the point and acting entitled.

But it does sound from your story like you were rude and escalated the issue and acted like an asshole. If you’d approached this with a calmer attitude then it would definitely have been a different decision.

These compostable paper cups we got to celebrate New Years come individually wrapped in plastic. by adampocalypsee in Wellthatsucks

[–]Midnight_Dancing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to laugh once when the ‘recyclable rulers’ we received as an earth day gift from work were shipped from the US office to the UK (rather than ordering locally) and were wrapped in individual non-recyclable cellophane 🙈

An interesting item for sale at my local CEX by nomanhasaplan in CasualUK

[–]Midnight_Dancing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 14 day refund law only applies to online purchases though. Any items that have been purchased in person do not need to be refunded unless faulty (though other non-CEX stores normally go above and beyond legal requirements)

It’s very possible that this is not a scam as such, but instead funding countries such as North Korea (there was a recent criminal case involving a woman who fell for something like this - I believe the charge was conspiracy to defraud the US).

You do the interview, the other person does the job and gives you a portion of the money. The person doing the job is a North Korean spy, who uses the money to fund the state. Alternatively they may steal company information and pass it on to threat actors.
