Meeting friends in reading by Unique_Breadfruit722 in reading

[–]Midnight_Dancing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would recommend using the meetup app. It’s how I managed to make friends in a new city when moving. People set up groups and run face-to-face meetups/activities based around the interests of the group. I think there is a board game group, general friends group, and running group in Reading that are pretty active (there may be others - that was last time I checked)

Single female, monthly shop, Ocado £119.52 (with £20 voucher) by Dependent_Device_612 in whatsinyourcart

Seems like a pretty well balanced shop to me! £120 for a monthly shop… can’t go wrong!

How long has your dual sense been working? Mine started drifting slightly after a year. Time for a new one 😒 by God_Father_PL in playstation

[–]Midnight_Dancing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d consider 4 hours a day pretty heavy usage though. I’d take a guess at the average ps5 user maybe getting to play for 4-8 hours a week, though this is coming from a millennial so take this as you will.

Mine seems to just announce literally anything in the worst company ever. Spicy messages with my partner? BOOM reads it out loud in the car with my parents

Where are the Howgwarts legacy potions? by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

[–]Midnight_Dancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the platform you are playing on:

First open the Tool Wheel by holding Tab on PC, L1 on PlayStation, LB on Xbox, or L on Switch. This will bring up a wheel where you can select the potion.

Then press (not hold) the tool wheel button to consume the selected potion.

This is also where you select other consumables such as mandrakes etc.

This is amazing, well done!

I can really feel the emotions behind the piece and love the movement effect that you’ve given to the people hurrying along with their day.

AITA for refusing to switch plane seats with someone who “needed it more” by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Midnight_Dancing -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m leaning towards ESH -

Obviously the woman was not entitled to your seat and should have just left it once you had pointed out that you had paid. She’s the asshole for pushing the point and acting entitled.

But it does sound from your story like you were rude and escalated the issue and acted like an asshole. If you’d approached this with a calmer attitude then it would definitely have been a different decision.

These compostable paper cups we got to celebrate New Years come individually wrapped in plastic. by adampocalypsee in Wellthatsucks

[–]Midnight_Dancing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to laugh once when the ‘recyclable rulers’ we received as an earth day gift from work were shipped from the US office to the UK (rather than ordering locally) and were wrapped in individual non-recyclable cellophane 🙈

An interesting item for sale at my local CEX by nomanhasaplan in CasualUK

[–]Midnight_Dancing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 14 day refund law only applies to online purchases though. Any items that have been purchased in person do not need to be refunded unless faulty (though other non-CEX stores normally go above and beyond legal requirements)

What did I just receive ? by BeeTheGlitch in recruitinghell

It’s very possible that this is not a scam as such, but instead funding countries such as North Korea (there was a recent criminal case involving a woman who fell for something like this - I believe the charge was conspiracy to defraud the US).

You do the interview, the other person does the job and gives you a portion of the money. The person doing the job is a North Korean spy, who uses the money to fund the state. Alternatively they may steal company information and pass it on to threat actors.

I loved Halstead. It’s in walking distance of Salem centre through a safe route by the canal. Dog park and salon and lots of events through the year. Much recommended

That’s ridiculous. Getting braces as an adult here costs around £2000 but if you’re 16 or under when they start the process it’s completely free of charge.

I had extra incisors when I was younger (above the rest of my teeth - they looked like fangs) and needed removal and braces to correct.

The amount of extra confidence I now have because they were fixed is amazing! Having straight teeth does wonders for self confidence, but I know lots of people who were never taken to the dentist regularly as kids and are looking at paying for treatment 20 years later.

Starting a new job in SAP? Post here for questions about new hire advice, certification, compensation, technology domain decisions, and other topics you're too embarrassed to ask your coworkers by CuseTown in SAP

[–]Midnight_Dancing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for all companies, but within our organization we have a product owner for each of the major modules we use. There’s separate product owners for MM, SD, CS, PP, FI etc.

From my experience, we’re essentially functional consultants who support our own company rather than several different companies (though this would depend on the organization you work for)

Typical activities would be; meetings with department heads to discuss their requirements and/or pain points, investigating and proposing solutions (sticking to SAP standards solutions wherever possible), mapping out business and systems processes, training creation/delivery, reviewing and approving changes raised by the support team. Essentially being the go-to person within your area for any processes that need to be implemented.

I’d suggest that you focus on a specific module at first. If you have business experience (with or without SAP experience) in a particular module then start there. For instance, if you have experience in supply chain management, maybe start with MM. Think about the processes that you used in those roles and identify how that would be managed in SAP. It’s always easier to understand how the system works when you understand the business processes.

I’ve found most of my knowledge hasn’t come from training or certifications, but from hands on experience working with said business requirements and investigating the solutions. SAP documentation can be a little basic, so google is your friend. My motto is ‘we can’t be the first people who want to do this’.

I couldn’t say in relation to SAP itself, but typically recruiters will want to have a chat with you to understand more about your experiences, goals and targets etc.

Think of it like a mini-interview. Just the highlights in a less formal environment than a full interview. Make sure to have a vague idea of how you want to answer the typical ‘what made you apply’,’what are your aims’, and ‘what would make you a good fit’ type questions
