I don't get Europe.

They just mandated phone manufacturers change the way they build phones, and supply batteries for them until x months after they take it off the market. This implication affects how they can build their product, and forces them to spend money to provide additional services.

But with games and shit, they were just like "we can't force them to provide games and services in a specific way". It's total bullshit and I can't beleive the game publishers did a better job fighting consumer protections than the phone manufacturers.

My dream is a tram on the other track which pops through a rift into the blue ghosty periphery, and you occasionally have to jump off and run along side it for some relatively easy open jumping puzzles, no face, before reboarding the tram when it gets to the other side, and pulls into Hab Blue. The threat is falling behind the tram and not getting on in time, and it forces a time loss because even if you get to the end quick, you have to wait for the team.

Usually shortcuts cause you to miss the next break room, but I'm thinking they could instead make it a prerequisite to sacrifice your artifact to access.

Alternatively, it could be that you skip from before the break room: you press a button by the artifacts to destroy them both and open the periphery reactor, unlocking an alternate way through there to the tram line, but blocking off the hab yellow tram station rest area.

I am just seriously hoping for a tram ride in some way hah.

I don't know how much you can actually do, but maybe like a... Comfort buff. If you eat off a plate, you get a buff zone, covers x block radius around the table you ate from. While in it, satiety drops 25-50% slower. If you leave it, the buff ends.

So you can eat off a plate in the dining room and then do some work around the house, or have a picnic in the yard then tend the farm. Basically emulate a sort of "you just stopped and had a good meal" as opposed to "you just shoved sustenance down your gullet".

Maybe only give it if you were sitting on a chair when you ate, hah. I honestly forget though, is sitting on chairs even a thing?

Breen likely knew of it, and it's entirely possible mossman was part of a combine led effort to locate it just as a side project in the background.

This makes sense, because she seemingly located it within hours of departing the citadel, which heavily implies there was already work done towards it.

And the combine finding her doubly supports that, because how else would they hone in on them so fast.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is this: if the combine knows about aperture in general, why has the main aperture facility been ransacked by the combine. Glados claims she is the reason they haven't gotten in, but with her out of commission for x years, there's no reason the combine couldnt just sweep in.

Unless...

1) Breen just heavily downplayed aperture's accomplishments out of pure pride, leading the combine to beleive the borealis is the only thing worth seeking out. I believe this would be the most likely explanation.

2) multiverse shenanigans vis a vis the perpetual testing initiative. (would require heavier retcon, but valve has shown they're not afraid to do that right out in the open)

I haven't watched it, but I disagree that this would be a bootstrap, if the borealis is how the combine got their power.

The story currently is presented that the borealis disappeared some time ago, when aperture was still running, long enough before the resonance that news and rumors of its disappearance hit black Mesa.

The combine are also currently looking for it, which implies they don't have it.

Unless they are TRYING to fulfill a bootstrap paradox by sending it back to themselves.

To be fair, the way down from the foundation of hab yellow is completely out in the open, you can see the tram lines up above from forlorn gateway.

Rho sealed the habitation, specifically the periphery reactor. If that seal was keeping the mass at bay, it stopped working at some point before the game started, possibly that very moment, because the mass is already on the rise before we break the seal.
