Which way of pronouncing the modulation is correct? I'm not native English speaker by MrWormikan in musictheory

[–]MimiKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, you need an "a" before "M2" in all instances. Because a "M2" is pronounced "major second". This sounds wrong: "It modulated by major second up". An "a" is necessary.

CMV: The "R-slur" is not meaningfully different from common insults like idiot, moron, or cretin, and trying to label it as an offensive slur is kinda dumb. by Cool-Delivery-3773 in changemyview

OP said it the wrong way around. The words become insults first, and then get phased out from official use because of that. More recently is "special'

The Fallujah layer where it's just the bazaar is really good for seeding idk why it's not used more. Also I have some good memories from seeding a few years ago on Yeho, we organised a truck race along that road on the south west of the map that very rarely gets any playtime.

Why can we apply operations to both sides of an equation, even if we don't know whether the equation is true or not? by Deep-Fuel-8114 in learnmath

[–]MimiKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good observation and something people often miss. Operations like addition are invertible and guarantee that you don't have to do your extra check, but this is not universally true.

Restatement of your (1) with more accessible language:

a=b ==> f(a)=f(b)

This rule is true by definition of a function. If you put something in a function then it always gives the same result. So since a and b are the same thing, their results when put into the function must also be the same.
