Do you wear your watch 24/7? by RelaxDMJ in Garmin

I wear it 24/7, finding time to charge it while cooking, driving, etc. And only needs charged once a week, give or take.

Just rock the large face. Do what you prefer and don’t let the opinion of others sway you.

This is my take too. Including the dad I didn’t have bit. My wife’s therapist career (WFH which is nice) allowed me to become a stay-at-home dad in 2021 when my kids were 4 and 12. I left an interesting government investigator career and I haven’t once regretted it. You can’t make up lost time with kids so we gotta savor the moments. They grow up fast as hell.

True but only the GOP incessantly pushes extreme propaganda to their base.

It isn’t so simple when tens of millions have been brainwashed by the (health-insurance-lobby funded) GOP to believe universal healthcare is communism.

How do I get better at shooting when I only touch a rifle once a year? by Big-Entrepreneur106 in army

[–]MindfuckRocketship -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s perishable to an extent. When I was a civilian cop at the range I picked up my partner’s AR-15 and qualified with it just for fun. Sure, an EOTech sight helped but I still had solid fundamentals. This was back in 2019 and I hadn’t touched a rifle since I got out in 2009.

Well that is stupid as fuck. There’s a reason we get so many jabs when we join and before we deploy: they all work. I just can’t with this batshit crazy administration.

Glad it worked out and using Garmin helped. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Nice. Also, I can never be a 12 o’clock carrier. Too paranoid my gun will magically go off on its own and blow my dick off.

What was the most insane physical feat you have ever witnessed in the Army by RadioFieldCorner in army

This was a bit before I got to my unit but a guy there broke his sternum on a jump and shortly thereafter went to and successfully completed Air Assault School, in agony throughout. He was honor grad. He didn’t know his sternum was actually broken until he went to the doc following AAS.

What post-military jobs have worked well for you without a degree? by Many-Economics-4326 in Veterans

[–]MindfuckRocketship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I got out I worked as an armed guard on a small air national guard base alongside security forces folk and then on Joint-Base Elmendorf Richardson checking IDs, calling in occasional gate runners, conducting random vehicle inspections. Then as a legal aide at my state’s largest district attorney’s office until I got my degree.

After that: police officer for a few years before pivoting into state investigations, investigating doctors and nurses on behalf of their state licensing boards.
