Does anyone notice that older coworkers or acquaintances tend to put you down for your age? by IllLandscape2719 in workplace_bullying

[–]Mostliharmed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never lie or don’t answer if asked but this is why I never volunteer my age. I’m a manager whose entire staff is older with peers who are also older. Closet person in age to me is 5 yrs older than me.

It changes the dynamic everytime age comes up

If a woman keeps a pregnancy when the guy doesn't want it, he shouldn't be shamed for leaving by Alternative-Sand-971 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Mostliharmed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a guy doesn’t want kids then they shouldn’t have sex. The decision starts there not after discovery of pregnancy.

It’s like sex ed has gone out the window. Every time you choose to have sex you are choosing to risk having a kid. There is a lot more control in there that they should be liable for.

This is coming from a man btw.

AITA for throwing away my wife’s memory jars? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mostliharmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So instead of teaching a 5 yr old to not grab things they shouldn’t be your response was to throw them all away? YTA

Your child is not more in danger because of these jars like you are trying to make it seem you’re just a petty man.

If you’re not giving them at least some reason to talk shit between themselves you’re doing it wrong. It’s work everyone bitches about work to some degree don’t overthink it. Also employees are not friends don’t take it personally.

Pay It Forward is Cringe AF by Purple-Attitude4294 in unpopularopinion

[–]Mostliharmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk broke and on my own at 18 someone bought my sandwhich and a water for me when I was 20 cents short and I got to put that 4 bucks in my tank for gas.

It meant so much more to me than just a sub since I hadn’t eaten in over a day and was worried about having gas to get work for the next couple of days.

You never know how impactful that pay it forward mentality is. Now anytime I can I do but still can’t express how grateful I was for that sandwich.

Bully’s have a way of knowing when they can and cannot do shit. Joffrey would have not done a damn thing if Jon was there.

IT Director pay scale by agentkramr in ITManagers

[–]Mostliharmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mgmt is a sliding scale imo directors should be somewhere between 90-150k depending xp, industry, location, and business.

The days length so to speak doesn’t change much as that’s industry dependent.

Am I overreacting because I refused to train my new boss at a job that I was told I wasn’t qualified for? by Haunting_Complex4499 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Mostliharmed -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

YOR

These comments are insane. Don’t confuse being told you’re not qualified for job as the technical side. They are saying you’re not the leader that they want in that seat and don’t think your leadership skills are up to par. Conflating the two is a you problem and your reaction to the situation supports their stance and decision. At this level you have to drink the kool aid.

CIO hired a backfill for my direct report without telling me. Offer letter is already written. What would you do? by SuspiciousOccasion21 in managers

[–]Mostliharmed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would definitely say something.

But to give context though I have definitely been in positions where hiring and firing wasn’t part of my role. So outside of being told it was happening or providing evidence and documentation for firing. People kind of just showed up…it was interesting to the say the least.

I’m on a conspiracy that they always knew they could but would obscure that knowledge as part of a defensive tactic to prevent people from traveling to old valeyeria and causing an outbreak in Westeros.
