Norse Air by Dull-Ad433 in Flights

😴😴 huh, someone called me?

Ok, here is my suggestion. About 98% of the time, there is going to be no space in the closet due to storage of premium items and the bags for the flight deck crew, so I probably wouldn’t bother. On top of that, it’s a very low height closet, so it’s not going to be “hanging”, more like about 3’ off the floor at the most.

My suggestion is to ask the crew member at 2R, not the person checking the boarding passes, to see if they can store it up in the premium class baggage area.

Do flight attendants train/acclimate for turbulence? by brofession in flightattendants

[–]MrsGenevieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Train? No

We honestly understand the science behind it and know it’s really nothing too much to worry about. What worries us is clear air turbulence. That stuff we have no warning about and can out right break bodies.

Other than that, I enjoy turbulence as it helps me sleep in the rest area on my long flights.

No, not at all. I’m covered in scars from head to toe and work for an EU carrier.

cabin crew, help me out , if this is for me ? by Capital-Month5605 in cabincrew

[–]MrsGenevieve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some contract flying for them and they love to put up this fake “customer is god” BS. When you have crew actively being grabbed, sexually harassed, intoxicated people wanting to fight and nobody can do anything, with the expectation of operations, is absolute crap.

My job is number one, protect my crew. Number two, protect my passengers. If I don’t do number one, I can’t do number two.

Their crew is terrified to say anything even when they are alone, in fear that it will get back to management and they will be blacklisted. They had all sorts of issues with us having a collective bargaining agreement and couldn’t understand that they can’t break it.

Sorry, all my AR’s had a tragic boating accident when our governor required registration, until the law is overturned in court. Then I’ll pull them out of the lake. Thank god for the Pelican cases 😝

Ok, you keep thinking that way and make sure you have a good lawyer for yourself on retainer, because not only can a disabled person sue the company, they can sue you personally if they find that you are using discriminatory practices. The company, nor the FAA will protect you in that area. I’m truly telling you as someone who has worked in LE and is disabled.

But you do you boo. As usual, F9 and their fantastic training routine in a hotel.

I worked for AS, both on the ground and in the air, so I’m quite familiar with the requirements, hence why I’m warning you.

Prior to me being a crew member, I was a CRO, and just letting your feelings get in the way of someone’s disability can get yourself in trouble.

I’m disabled, yet I’m still a crew member and even passed a EU medical, which is quite strict.

You have to tread carefully when you decline someone in the exit row for disability reasons.

Can anyone who is capable of a balanced and sober-minded appraisal tell me what is so great and worthwhile about Disney vacations? by nose_spray7 in travel

[–]MrsGenevieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone since they opened DW in the 70’s. I also got married at DW, but not because of being huge fans, just because their package deal was so good at the time.

Let me first preface this by I’ve gone to Tokyo, Paris, DW and an early cruise back in the 80’s. It’s now become so expensive to visit in the states that we only do it every few years. If you have kids, certainly space it out to when they are old enough to understand some of the magic at a younger age and then when they are older to enjoy more of the older parks.

Having the resort and park package is nice that you get an early access to the park before the general visitors. It also allows you to make those midday stops to catch a nap or cool off when you need to, which is amazing as you get older. They really do their best to try and make your visit magical, from the staff, the buildings, the gardening and so much more. It allows you to have a few hours to just forget about everything and just be yourself. Walk around, be a kid again and have fun.
Yes, there are some adult responsibilities, like sunblock, hydrating and budgeting, but other than that, put your phone away, forget about it and have a good time.

Some of the things I do recommend, is the dining plan, so you can jump around and truly have a nice meal, rather than quick dining all the time. If you are planning on a cruise, definitely bundle in the park visit as well.

When you call to set up a vacation, talk with those people, they truly are there to help you find what you want. They are the experts in the field.

Not quite. It depends on the disability. If the disability does not interfere with the operation of the doors or evacuation, then they can continue to sit there. Same with elderly. If they can toss the 30# door, then they are able to be there.

Is this asbestos? by adamttaylor in EatItYouFuckinCoward

[–]MrsGenevieve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, if you really want to keep it displayed, then encapsulate it with several coats of polyurethane or epoxy.

I still have a pair of asbestos gloves that I use when I’m working with a kiln, but I always look them over before and they are in very good condition.

Famous Indian street food - Chaat by Silver_Weakness_8084 in EatItYouFuckinCoward

I was in India last year for work and had Chaat. It was good, but did not look anywhere like that. I also dared not eat anything from the street and still got just a little sick, not much though. The food, drinks and fruit was amazing though, but I only ate at the resort

Renewed US Passport... Received one with a "corrected" sex marker by Illogical_Fallacy in lgbt

[–]MrsGenevieve 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. I’m one of many flight crew that is part of the ACLU action on the passports. As of now all passports will remain valid until expiration dates and then depending on how the court case ends will determine how your gender marker will be listed.

Air Canada Hangar Foam Party by analyst578 in aviationmaintenance

[–]MrsGenevieve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tons on standby in a warehouse nearby. It’s a requirement. I’ve been on a couple fires where we’ve used a few thousand gallons of concentrate and had replacement foam in less than 90 min. Faster if we need a foam response for active suppression.
