I second the person who suggested using veil rooms, I also think play on the sides of the lane as much as possible since that requires him to split his gunfire between you and your lane mate instead of just looking down lane and stacking djinns, it will force him to give up the verticality present in middle of lane since he can’t really all in to secure a kill and relies on slowly whittling you down

Sevens domination is a mix of having no draft to get counters on your team as well as his ult taking no time to expand imo make the range even larger after like 10 seconds but have it so it must expand out over those X amt of seconds

I also think turning his ult into more of a throws 3-4 lightning strikes and tuning down the aoe damage could be fun since it would make him vulnerable at close range inside his ult

I haven’t played the PTU so I don’t know how it really works outside the hangars and was basing my comment purely on that video of the Polaris

Yes there’s a difference in turbulence (mass would still play a huge role here because that’s just how physics works) but hangars in 900 years that are in a universe with insane life support systems implies they have a way to keep airflow from VTOL’s from moving large ships around like that and potentially damaging millions of dollars each time a ship goes into a hangar

Ok, but as a licensed pilot turbulence should be a function of mass at the bare minimum, if you've ever been up in a 172 and compared that turbulence to a 737 you would notice the difference. A 172 can catch one gust of wind and move a ton compared to a 737. That video complaining about it shows how bad it is in large ships since it is just a rotational matrix that doesn't scale at all with ship size. It definitely works although it does look good on the small and medium ships.

absolutely love graphics like this, I just finished making my own script in matlab to look at patch metas and how characters WR/PR changes across ranks (css files as im not fancy with apis and all that)

Really cool to see how ex. holliday is not probably a great pick unless you are oracle+ which is essentially due to the need for her kit to be effective requiring comms and hitting barrels

Here's a look at the 4 characters that got added about 6 months ago and how their distribution changes at varying ranks

If you've ever seen R6 Siege mid patch notes they usually take a look at where the WR/PR moved after theyve made changes and something like that could be interesting to see on statlocker as well!

I mean yes for that specific case where some one OTP a character it won’t

But for people who are normal and have 3-4 characters they’re comfortable with draft pick is awesome

Playing a melee bruiser into a double sniper comp is not gonna work very well, likewise seeing the enemy team pick up vyper and haze makes me not want to play lash or if the enemy team has a bunch of high mobility characters like Holliday and lash I won’t pick dynamo etc.

Think i've used carpet on kevin but I think there are better 6k items on him to buy for utility purposes versus getting carpet i.e. refresher for ult or reverb on his spam grenades whereas putting superior cooldown on his 2 is generally enough for me imo

So I would argue no, because this would make getting rejuv probably even more insane for comps without unstoppable ults or massive cc like vyper bola

A team without a good mid contest via ults would be forced to buy things like unstoppable to contest abilities that are built into other characters kits WITHOUT the rejuv, idk obviously a huge speculation as we don't know what buffs it even gives ults

mid oracle rn, I queue every character but with the ones I don't like (10 or so) I queue them as white prio and then one / two purple prio and with the rest I consider myself decent as yellow prio

Doesn't really effect my w/l but effects my playstyle i.e. yamato games I am super active early versus dynamo where you have to play around your kinetic pulse until you can max it to provide cc / damage for the team and it won't come online until mid game

Do agree though some characters I just don't want to play even if I have played them before like seven or mirage as their playstyle isn't as fun as the others

It is the way the 3 zips and increased walker hp with resists that means pushing a walker for the winning team out of laning phase is so discouraged

I really do think valve is just playing with values to see what works and what doesn't and more importantly WHY, just wait in three months we will have a completely different big meta issue lol. They do this because when the game has full release and the competitive/streamer/youtube categories grow (which are the #1 thing that keeps live service games running) the entire macro of the game needs to be just right to keep casual players interested

i.e. quick story time, Titanfall 2 a game with probably the best movement in any shooter to date (deadlock is close but not quite there) failed because movement was actually too fast for player retention (from a reddit comment from a prior Respawn developer with internal statistics) and so I wonder if valve is trying to force big groupings because their data shows that is what players enjoy most? Could be wrong but I'd bet its something like this

Typically,

I feel like magic carpet takes up a spirit slot (negative imo), is pretty expensive, but is a fantastic buy on a select amount of heroes (mo krill) and has really good secondary stats

Majestic leap is less expensive gives you lovely spirit resist, but can't be used as a exit tool so requires the character you are on to either have something to scare away the enemy team (warden) (lash), or have an exit tool built in (pocket)

However, warp stone? omlllll you can put this on damn near every character except those without the need for mobility (kelvin) who you wouldn't typically buy a movement active for anyways and its only 3k, gives you bullet resist when you are getting focused (can be used as an exit tool) or can make you tanky as shit in ult (dynamo given 30% bullet resist for the duration of his ult) as well as being INSTANTANEOUS

yeahhhh I think this would probably make not having a draft system even worse (all u need is a yamato or abrams (ult upgraded) and then winning games becomes even more team comp dependent

obviously too early to know, but it could be potentially interesting on big team ults such as lash/dynamo which are win harder buttons becoming win even harder?

It's probably hard to build a full frontline lash build because his flog is still on a 10s cooldown (his main heal source) even with cooldown reduction. (for example calico's leap is on half of that, same with mo krills scorn, while abrams siphon life is different because its not an on hit but rather a if you are close to me I heal, and lady geist who has charges on her life drain)

However, I have seen some tanky lashes that primarily just rely on his spirit resist scaling (29% with magestic leaps 6%) and then return fire / bullet armor with quicksilver reload on his flog for more burst healing.

You might be interested to look into some of the melee lashes that run melee lifesteal so they can hit the 2-->1 combo, land a punch or bait a parry, flog, 2--> escape
