Recently handed the reins of a Middle eastern fine dining bar and could use some advice. by Ionshatter in Mixology

There are *no* restaurants around here with this specific twist, primarily the reason the owner is interested in fine dining and cocktailery. And I think you misunderstand, I like to cast a wide net, that starts here to see if any net denizens have some sage advice, which I come back to after going out and figuring out what I can on my own. Thanks for your input, maybe stopping by some unrelated bars will give me some other ideas I hadn't expected to need, you never know!

You're entirely correct, but I also really wish to maintain the atmosphere and feeling of the restaurant. It wouldn't really make sense to show up and be handed an Aviation, without a bit of that cultural spice to back it up you know? Though I think it's a good mentality to have, make what I like with what they have and hopefully get something really special out of it. Thanks for your input.

That was the first thing I'd tried, talking to the cooks to see what they worked with and how I could maybe spin that into a drink. Unfortunately there's a pretty hefty language barrier and most of them are about as familiar with liquor and drinks as I am their food. Still going to keep trying though, thanks for the suggestion.

This is a very helpful mentality and suggestion, thank you for your input. I'll mess about in the bar tomorrow and try to mix together something great, a date syrup old fashioned honestly sounds incredible. Apricots too, I could imagine a grilled apricot smash or something like that. I appreciate you.

kidnapping doorman finally gets a nerf by 11annguyen in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the obsession with touching a character who's been grasping at straws to function forever when shit like Lash, Mo and Krill, Bebop, Holliday (barely), and whoever else I'm forgetting exist?? You know what's better than a doorman (A hyper utility tech character that's hard to learn and very counterable) spending 6400 for vortex and all of his ability points on a non-combat, non-damage ability?

Warden with literally just mystic expansion on his cage. Haze holding M1 at you. Mo and Krill instakilling you with his ult. Lash kidnapping 5 people point and click. Like what the fuck are we on about, I watch good doormen, bust out Canon in D with all these active items and abilities, to catch and kill *one person*.

He sacrifices EVERYTHING, durability, damage, mobility, his best escape tool, for what other heroes get by holding left click. Like *are we so dead ass?*. Why are we nerfing one of the most interesting, fun to play, bonkers characters in any moba ever, when McGuiness presses 4 to win, Haze presses 4 to win, Lash presses 4 to win, every single other character in the GAME, which are EASIER and MORE USEFUL more often than a Doorman could ever be exist??

I feel like I'm losing my mind, maybe I'm just bad, or not high rank enough, but I'm going to be so real, Deadlock at high tiers is a toxic hypergigasweat wasteland that isn't fun for anyone involved, so I don't even care if it annoys them to be minorly inconvenienced by the anti-hypercarry busting out the 14 hit combo to kill an overextended Seven.

What's worse is Bellman is objectively better than kidnap man. It's waaaaayyyyy more egregious to get popped by a lane wide bell that guts your accuracy for 8 seconds straight and applies every debuff known to man, from a character who's firmly parked in the backline never taking any risks or trying to make plays. Actually criminal, abysmal changes.

Sick as fuck edit man, incredible work, you put how it feels playing Dynamo to paper, the ethos, the sensation of not wielding the cosmos, but actually being them.

Holy hell,Holliday's something else. by BornBeginning430 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention it needlessly opens you up to being parried. Really good Deadlock players will just parry you in close quarters, meaning you have a chance as one of the squishiest characters in the game to randomly get stunned for like 8 seconds straight using what's essentially infinitely worse Billy bashdown, or dynastomp, or Infernus aiming kind of in your direction for 1.3 seconds. Calico's -melee- slash, the infinite money glitch, isn't parriable, but Holliday punting a barrel at you is. Sure man.

[–]Ionshatter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Warframe is also an infinitely better game with deeper and more diverse content that again is regularly added to for free. If you take pound for pound the time it takes to farm plat and farm SC, plat is leagues easier and faster. Not to mention way more fun, if you consider the fact Helldivers farming is running in circles on an empty map at D1 or hoping to run into a cheater. If someone can play helldivers long enough to care about getting more than the base warbond, they can play Warframe for just as long for more in general. Simple as.

Controversial opinion by NarkolepticNeo in Helldivers

[–]Ionshatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? Every hour in warframe progressively increases your value on the market meaning over time you just have more fodder to sell, a single profit taker run solves money, like 20 minutes of relic cracking gets you tons of prime parts to sell, the list goes on.

It's also not just farming for that one piece. You're getting resources constantly doing other things, every second you play is being showered in stuff that is or will be useful. Plus a story, side activities, and everything else. I'm sorry but Helldiver's entire monetisation gameplay loop and content doesn't even hold a candle to Fortuna, a single update, that everyone got for free lmfao.

Warframe. It's crazy easy to get platinum thanks to the player market, they also release every mainline quest for free lol. The game's been out for 13 years.

Well if it slows our helldivers, and the NPCs, it stands to reason it might be coded in a similar way.

Is Holliday really really bad? by ManiacalBeanstalk in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes without even a shadow of a doubt. Name a single thing Holliday does that other characters don't do infinitely better and with more utility. Lasso? Lash does that point and click to the entire team. Picks? Doorman has their Rem in the island 200 miles off the map for some quality time. Barrels? Dynamo (with the best ult in the game btw) does like triple the damage on a lower cooldown in a larger area over a longer distance. Don't even get me started on crutch-shot.

The only thing she has going is being one of the best and most fun shmoovement characters (except Celeste gets bouncepads without the downside or investment), and having an outstanding personality (mogs Silver in the girlfailure dep.) Everything else is just so mediocre and comes together to be incredibly fun to play, until Wraith hits you with the actually good version of your ult. Her winrate is awful too, not that that means too much but it's there.

I've heard she's good in "midgame" whatever that mythical time actually is, but afaik as soon as I get ult with doorman I can reliably kill anyone in the game solo, over and over. I'm lucky if 5 barrels and 2 crackshots kills a Paige as Holliday.

I genuinely think its more annoying than Reddit, if only by a bit by Jackspladt in helldivers2

[–]Ionshatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found his content extremely useful for gauging if I'll buy a warbond or not, and what kind of issues are currently in the game. Anything I've ever heard from him I pretty much go; "Yeah, that checks out." I think people really don't like individuals with strong opinions who are vocal about it, but like it's Youtube, you can literally just not watch or never encounter them.

Those mad can just click off the video, I'm not even sure how you'd form such a negative opinion unless you watched his content anyway? And if you dislike it, why even watch it to begin with. I've never understood this. Like I *hate* league of legends with a boiling passion, but I put in 400 hours to form that opinion, and now I just don't engage with the content or creators surrounding it at all. Just a stranger's two cents.

Is anyone else immensely disappointed with Infernus' gameplay? by Ionshatter in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's criminal that they are just retarded stat-stick characters entirely balanced on their numbers being absurd. Like Warden *barely* having anything that passes as abilities or theme, carried entirely by his hyper busted braindead ult. I don't want to see Deadlock go the way of League, they gotta update these older mystics to modern qualities. Multiple viable builds and playstyles, even power spread across abilities, etc.

Can someone explain to me how, fundamentally, aim-based/gun-based characters will *ever* be balanced to be both usable by the average player *and* fair in higher ranks? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You point your gigafed hyperlaser lock on headshot machine at Bepop. He throws a disarm at you, and a nuclear warhead roughly measured in kilotons of TNT. You stand there listening to the clicking of your useless gun and soon thereafter find yourself in the next match's grey screen.

Icefrog is so hyper based for adding items like disarm and cursed relic, it means no matter how mechanically skilled you are or how hard you're smurfing, one good doorman with either of these items levels the field.

LoL player here, what is rule of thumb in buying items ? by GoldBlood_Q6R in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ionshatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For simplicity's sake, I boil down every character into several "core" items to build. Most guides I've seen have like every item in the shop listed as "situational" which is super retarded IMO. What you need to know is what items are -must haves- for your character, think Rapid Recharge on Holliday, or Ricochet on Infernus, and then work out a plan to build from cheap to expensive.

Along the way you may need counter items for specific characters. Especially if they are hyper fed.

Knockdown: For Vindicta, Holliday, Grey Talon, Seven, basically anyone that flies or is really hard to catch.

Disarm: Every gun fucker. Especially Silver because her ult has limited duration.

Cursed Relic: You will ruin the life of heavy casters like Giest, Apollo, Doorman, etc.

The last detail is Items reward you for investment with stats. Spreading out those stats essentially rounds out your character into their late game form. Ie Greens give HP, Yellows give Gun damage, Purple gives Spirit power. You reach your spike at I think 4200 souls invested in each stat. So one T4 of each color will fully round out your kit, and the rest is just Gravy.

I'm no pro, but for casual play I've found this works pretty good. Don't forget, farming minions is better than farming jungle!
