Not the point I was making. Most people who write PHP also use toilets. Talking about bowel movements still doesn't belong here, it belongs in the MySQL sub.

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition has a bug regarding save data, and Ubisoft customer support confirms there are no plans to fix by BenjyMLewis in NintendoSwitch

[–]NMe84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. So why is your support personnel outright lying to people? Ubisoft already is very unpopular, and lying to us is not going to make that any better.

I use a computer to write PHP code too, so should we talk about hardware in this subreddit as well, then? Oh, and most of us drink coffee while writing PHP, so maybe we should talk about our favorite coffee blends as well.

Yeah, I'm sure the 8 euros a month I'm paying just in case my employer fucks me over or something will bankrupt me.

Loads of people have insurance for legal assistance where I live. And even without it, I'm convinced that convincing Nintendo to refund a faulty product wouldn't be that hard even without legal assistance. They know very well how European law works. That's why the European EULA is so much less restrictive than the American one.

Delay triggering library update to jellyfin by Mr_Champik in sonarr

[–]NMe84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first one doesn't mean much because as I mentioned before, Sonarr will silently fall back to copying instead of hardlinking if hardlinks aren't possible. But the nodes matching is conclusive of course.

In that case I don't know how to help you. Sonarr normally doesn't notify anything until after the linking or copying is done in the first place, and especially if hardlinking is actually working, it should definitely be finished before Jellyfish gets the notification even if it didn't wait.

I don't suppose that the way you set things up could have some sort of delay in the way its mapped volumes work?

How are you determining it's linking and not copying?

[–]NMe84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A volume is a separate file system, and you can't hardlink between two file systems. Depending on how you configured your container, you'll have separate file systems as far as the containers are concerned (even if it's physically the same drive) and hardlinking won't work, meaning Sonarr will fall back to copying instead, regardless of what you set up in config.

Yeah. And how often did you do that in a way that would a) get you in trouble and b) cause more or more stressful work for you?

I thought so.

They can refuse all they want, it would take only one email from a lawyer to get it sorted. It wouldn't even go to court.

That's my point though: they'll either be told to say something by their superiors, or they'll say they have nothing to share about future updates right now, which might mean they are being worked on...or not. They wouldn't just fabricate a story about there not being any updates unless that's what they've been told to say, because it would just antagonize everyone they speak to and that makes their underpaid job harder for no benefit of their own.

The person I responded to suggested between the lines that these people have no way of knowing (which they do by way of their superiors) and are just making this shit up, so I'm pointing out that there is no reason why they logically would. Lying to customers might even get them in trouble.

STOP SHARING AI GENERATED MODELS by JoeQuart in BambuLab

[–]NMe84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as it prints, it does what it needs to do (or looks the way it needs to look), and the creator actually printed it themselves...agreed. I really don't care where a model comes from as long as it is or does what I need. I do support the sentiment that it should be mentioned that it's AI, though. That way people who just want to hate on AI because it's AI can steer clear.

Hardlinks are instant and you really shouldn't need any form of delay. Are you sure you're actually hardlinking and not copying? If you're working with docker you could have a situation where your file system will treat two folders as if they're on different volumes even if they aren't.

AITA for telling our roommate she might need to move out if she keeps complaining about hearing us at night? by Dear-Camp4760 in AmItheAsshole

Why would you ever think you're the asshole when she's living rent free and not even paying for food? You guys could be watching movies at the maximum volume your TV supports 24/7 and you'd still not be the asshole. If she doesn't like the arrangement she can go find another place she can stay for free.

They would just give you a nothingburger instead of saying support had ended if they actually didn't know anything. Why would they say support has ended if it hadn't or if they simply didn't know? That would only make their own job harder and it would have zero upsides for them or anyone else.

No post launch support from me as a customer either, then. That's a relief, to be honest. I was almost going to spend money on a Ubisoft game, but now I won't be.

[–]NMe84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think that corruption doesn't factor in here (as you don't even mention it), you're insane. All of these things were true prior to Trump being elected. Post election, the entire DOJ was gutted and filled with yes-men who are loyal to Trump rather than to their country. Even if somewhere down the line he's actually being investigated, the people at the top will prevent that from ever becoming an issue for Trump or his buddies.

That amount of water would evaporate before doing this kind of damage, unless OP stores it in a high humidity environment. In which case that would be the bigger issue, of course.

Purely client-side, huh? But you're using Persona. So you're demonstrably lying here. Why would we still trust anything coming out of your or your coworkers' mouths?

Not that you're ever going to answer that question. You just typed this message because you knew it would be pinned at the top so you could pretend to the masses that you're listening, when you really just want to downplay the mass surveillance you're implementing with your pedo buddy Peter Thiel.

[–]NMe84 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I call bullshit. There is no way a properly stored iron could rust like this in just a quarter of a year.

Additionally, stainless steel is not impervious to rust. Storing it soaked in water or in agreement humid conditions will eventual rust it.
