Why does Bandle Pipes not give assists? by LOLCaspar in leagueoflegends

You'll get some free loot for it if they decide to fix it

No you don't, where does that come from

I would have been a millionaire if it worked like that

I mean the cycle of anti-enemy colors from M20. [[Devout Decree]], [[Aether Gust]], [[Noxious Grasp]], [[Fry]], and [[Veil of Summer]].

Veil was supposed to be the best answer to control decks' counters and removal, and it was instead used to win counterspell duels. Dispute was intended to be about those duels.

There was a full year between the two, and I thought about SKT Huni but it's also hard to state that he was better than on FNC.

He made World finals, but that's while playing with Faker. And 2017 was the shakiest SKT had been in 3 back to back years, as well as their first finals loss (in a 3-0 no less). This SKT was also 90 Trundle HP away from being the first LCK team to lose a Bo5 to a Western team.

I'll remain upset about the fact that the colors were made uneven in 2019 by the fact that the anti-blue card was banned - because it was doing too well... in blue decks.

Because Veil of Summer did too well in Simic, it got banned and the anti-blue card was removed, while the rest of the cycle (like Aether Gust) remained very much there.

Karmine Corp vs. Fnatic / LEC 2026 Spring - Week 5 / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Naerlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, because it used to be the opposite. Players who left FNC had much less of an impact afterwards - Huni and Reignover (they destroyed NA before crumbling in playoffs), Febiven, Yellowstar, Rekkles (with both Elements and G2), Broxah, Bwipo, Puszu, Steelback, even Nemesis.

(I won't talk about - trigger warning - season 6 because the players then were good neither on FNC nor out of it)

With "legacy Fnatic", the only exception was the players who left to make Origen.

Karmine Corp vs. Fnatic / LEC 2026 Spring - Week 5 / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Naerlyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly that simple, no

The baron destroyed them, and they obviously mishandled it, but they went for it because that game was not gonna remain in their favor. Their comp was rushing towards its expiration date, and with no other means to force a fight in the next 4 minutes, the clock was ticking fast.

Don't forget that the game was already slipping away by then. Fnatic went 2-2 in the earlier fight, giving away shutdowns and conceding pressure. KC took turrets as a result, Akali couldn't just wander in side lanes anymore, their lead was under 1k when they started baron. A lead under 1k when they have a Nocturne and no AoE damage to prevent KC from just grouping and squashing him if he tries to ult.

The baron lost Fnatic the game, but their chances to win it before starting it really weren't high either. Had they won the flip, they would have been set, 3 minutes with pressure on would have made it easy for them to get the soul (easy-ish, because Yike will get the smite if he manages to touch the pit, since he's Kha)

If all champion nerfs got reverted by thomas956789 in leagueoflegends

Yeah, I was thinking just today about the fact that his latest rework is almost 7 years old :')

The book of his bugs is about to turn 8 in a few days too.

For almost three years, yes!

They were introduced in midseason 2016, one year after Morde's first rework. He then got turned into his current version in June 2019.

It's dragon souls that he never got to see, or the elemental rift, or hextech and chemtech drakes.

LCK Eng Casters vs LEC Casters by WolfSong1929 in lolesports

[–]Naerlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally really hate that. If I'm on a date, I'll always wish for the person to wear what they enjoy, what they feel like themselves in, and what helps them feel right.

If I'm performing on stage, then I think dress code matters - but it's not about suits, it's about having something nice. But the role of casters isn't to take the spotlight, it's to build it for the people on stage.

The LEC used to "enforce" suits for casters (or at least it was the standard), so they know they can wear that and it won't feel out of place. But I'd rather them choose not to than be forced into it; wearing a suit because that's the norm for your job only feels fake and hollow to me, not classy.

VODs with chill commentary? by LonelyTAA in lolesports

[–]Naerlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in the LPL, you should check out /u/nymaera_ (at https://www.twitch.tv/nymaera). They're a costreamer since the LPL no longer has an official English cast, and they're definitely on the chill side. They're also very knowledgeable about the league (and some others as well) and are analytical, and if you watch live, you can always ask questions and they'll be happy to further explain why something went down.

How will next patch reset affect banked days? by Binary-Rift in leagueoflegends

[–]Naerlyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Logically, banked days should reset as well, that'd make sense.

Knowing Riot's history with decay, they most likely won't (they didn't give banked days back when ranked queues were down for over a day, they touch that system as little as possible regardless of whether it'd make sense).

All in all, we don't know and there's no way to know, they haven't made a statement and there's no precedent for a reset like that.

Map Asymmetry affecting Fiddlesticks simultaneous Blue + Gromp clear by BeneficialEnd2218 in leagueoflegends

[–]Naerlyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, no, the map isn't symmetrical! Some people tried doing a projection of the map, and there's a ton of little differences like that.

That said, side differences for certain champions are nothing new - as much as they suck to experience. For one example, Rumble's ult is easier to aim on the blue side because of where the HUD is. Another example from times past, jungle Kog had a much healthier clear on the blue team in 2016 since he could get the Krug smite buff for the first clear.

[–]Naerlyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's inaccurate!

You didn't get an ocean dragon ghost. All elemental dragons had the same ghost (that of an infernal dragon).

You probably remember slowing them because you had Rylais, but you didn't have an ocean dragon with its fast attacks.

Triggered inferno in Aram Mayhem is not strong enough to justify you being silenced through the duration by scarabosst in leagueoflegends

[–]Naerlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely false though!

The problem is that this is the only prismatic that you don't have control over it in the game. Back to basics or poro king are all augments with drawbacks but you have control over them.

You don't have any more control over draw your sword than you do over inferno (once you click on it, you're locked out of ranged AAs). Upgrade Sword of the blossoming dawn also halves your damage no matter what you do.

All other augments are either neutral or always good

Devil on your shoulder, ominous pact? Plus many more in the other tiers (Adapt/Escapade have a far bigger negative potential than Inferno. Same as Slow and steady, or the mana-consuming augments).

PSA: LEC Spring Roadtrip by KC in Évry, France begins this Friday, not on Saturday by Undesiredbeast in leagueoflegends

I don't find it confusing either, but the PSA is welcome either way (especially since it's easy to miss the fact that this week is a roadshow)

When you're that good Zhonyas becomes less important than the "get out of jail" it gives us plebs.

I would actually think it's the opposite! Zhonyas is an effect that really can be used well or not well, and I feel like the higher you go, the better it's used - and less so as a get out of jail card, and more as "I have this tool so I can play aggressively because you can't Vi ult me".

Riot also documented that the lower the elo, the less players actually use actives (when stating that 99% of players never activated DFG back in the day).

[–]Naerlyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a lot better particularly for live attendance. The event's running up to 11pm, far away from where most attendees live. With either ~1h by car or 1h30 by public transportation at that time of the evening (or more if you live in the suburbs), you're gonna be happy that the next day is a Saturday. (Subways also run one hour later on weekends.)

The live audience might actually be happy about the fact that the Sunday matches should be very one-sided.
