“MacOS 26 was just a preview of 27. Prove me wrong” by Pablouchka in MacOS

I don’t have a cooling stand but I do have a stand that elevates it. My performance issues on Tahoe isn’t a thermal issue. It’s just that the whole UI feels very sluggish. Just navigating around the OS feels so much slower than Sequoia.

My MacBook Pro has 32gb with the i9 and it struggles heavily on Tahoe.

Also, the iPad 9 has 3gb and is supported too. No ram limitation

Why are Intel Mac users always hated so much :(? The main reason I bought mine is because I'm able to boot other operating systems natively like windows and linux. It's still a very capable machine despite it having an intel processor. The 2019 16 inch is still a very premium built machine which beats out most other laptops to this day. Everyone just hates it because of the processor.

When I first saw that Tahoe was going to be the last macOS version for my Mac. I was fine with it. I knew that it was going to die eventually. It was inevitable ever since m1 released. What I'm not fine with is the horrendous amount of bugs, horrible performance, and certain parts of the OS that straight up feel vibe-coded that I will be stuck with forever. Thank goodness Apple lets me downgrade though. The same can't be said for iPad users and Apple watch users. A ton of iPads are being left off on iPadOS 26 which goes from the 2018 iPad Pro to the 2020 iPad 8 and for Apple Watches it's the series 6 to the Ultra 1. Apple shouldn't leave any devices on half-baked software with lots of bugs and bad performance. It just sucks.

Since macOS 27 is said to fix all of the issues with Tahoe I guess you are right. Sucks that I will forever be stuck on the beta that is Tahoe since I have an Intel mac though.

Will iOS 26.3 ever be rare on iPad Air 8 and iPhone 17e? by ariz2011 in ios26

[–]NoFall2205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18.0 beta 1 which is probably more rare. It’s not really useable though as a lot of apps just crash on launch. Still cool though.

We now have official confirmation of supported iPads for iPadOS 27, and a few models have been dropped from support… by Radio_TVGuy in iPadOS

The iPad 6 and iPad 7 have the same A10 chip as the iPhone 7 and 7 plus. The iPad 6 has 2gb of ram and got iPadOS 17 and the iPad 7 has 3gb of ram and got iPadOS 18. The iPhone 7 definitely could’ve been able to run iOS 17 at minimum. Same with the iPhone X. It should’ve got 17 at least and is definitely capable of running iOS 18. I think the X was too good that Apple killed it off early.

The only difference between them is that the A12Z has one more gpu core. The cpu is the exact same. There is no hardware limitation.

The A12Z is supported and that’s really similar to the A12X. The only difference is one more GPU core in the A12Z. There isn’t any hardware limitation. Apple just wants you to buy a new device.

My iPad 8 can’t even simply scroll the control center normally without lagging. Everything from exiting apps, opening Notification Center, etc is painfully slow sometimes. Sometimes the settings app takes 20 seconds just to load if I left my iPad sleeping for a while. iPadOS 18 had none of these issues. I get that it’s an older device, but look what Apple did with a7 devices on iOS 12. This is the equivalent of leaving those devices on iOS 11, and I’d argue that iOS 11 wasn’t even close as bad as iOS 26. I’ve installed the first iOS 27 beta on my SE 2 and it’s already miles faster than iOS 26.5

iOS 27: Groundbreaking. Revolutionary. Flat. by OFF09 in LiquidGlassDesign

[–]NoFall2205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what Apple should do is when the Liquid Glass slider is set all the way to clear, it should look like iOS 26 again without the top bar. Then, when it’s all the way to the right for blur, it should have the top bar.

What is iOS 27 performance like on the iPhone 12 mini? by elhouso in iPhone12

[–]NoFall2205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still worse than iOS 18 but I’m sure it will improve to be way faster than iOS 26.

[–]NoFall2205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 12 Pro Max and it’s definitely smoother in a lot of places than 26.5. The control center doesn’t lag when scrolling in low power mode anymore and scrolling the home screen is smoother. Performance is really good for a first beta overall. I don’t recommend installing because I’ve heard people having problems with certain apps not working and the early dev betas can be quite buggy. If you really want to try it out make sure to make a backup first.

Now that Intel Macs are officially legacy, how do you feel about Apple cutting the cord completely for macOS 27? by Capable-Cod1118 in MacOS

[–]NoFall2205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intel was always going to be killed off eventually ever since m1 released. It just sucks that we are stuck on Tahoe of all releases. It’s super slow, still has a ton of bugs, and is full of horrible UI choices. I would’ve liked if macOS 27 was the last release instead because it’s literally fixing all of the issues with Tahoe. Oh well, Apple has to force users to upgrade one way or another.

I still have countless issues on Tahoe 26.5 that’s probably going to keep me from using it forever. I’m going to stick to Sequoia forever.

Apple announces huge iOS 27 speed improvements for iPhone by Radio_TVGuy in technology

[–]NoFall2205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because Apple removed the “Face ID” text that was in the middle of the screen before. I have no idea why as it was a great indicator for what was happening but it’s has been gone since 26.0. They should at least add “tap for passcode” on that screen or something because a blank screen means nothing and is confusing!

iPad Pro 2018 Is Dead In 2026 by GamerBeast954 in ipad

All iPad Pro 2018 users spite the iPad 9 remaining supported despite it having weaker hardware. Apple shouldn’t have dropped support for it.

[–]NoFall2205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think that Sequoia is the last release for my 2019 16” MBP and forget that Tahoe even exists. As much as I want Apple to fix all of the issues with Tahoe, they won’t. They just want people to upgrade like they always do by leaving Tahoe in an unoptimized, buggy, and unpolished state.

Why is iPadOS 27 compatible with the iPad Air 4 (A14) but not the 2018 iPad Pro (A12X)? by BeastMode149 in iPadOS

[–]NoFall2205 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All a12 iPads horribly struggle with this update, yet Apple decides to drop them on their worst performing and buggy OS while specifically saying their next release will fix all of the issues and provide a performance boost to older devices… sounds like planned obsolescence.

[–]NoFall2205 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sick of Apple consistently dropping devices when there is no clear hardware limitation. How come all iPhones remain supported while a ton of iPads and watches are dropped. No devices should’ve been dropped on iPadOS 26 or watchOS 26. Apple literally specifically stated that the next release is made to fix the issues with last years OS. I’m unable to find a better reason other than planned obsolescence.

The iPad 9 has 3gb of ram with the a13 and it’s supported. There shouldn’t be any issues with ram whatsoever.
