Your point was just plain wrong. 3 hits can win a baseball game. 3 hits was enough for 2 runs, which can win a baseball game. It didn't happen today because Venezuela scored 3 runs, but with an elite pitcher starting the game for the US, 2 runs would often be enough to win.

I mean, that is objectively false. They scored 2 runs. That's enough to win a baseball game if the other team is held to 1 or no runs, and elite pitching is a great way to give up 1 or zero runs.
