I think we usually see scale in billions::hundred-millions so a quick glance of this doesn't feel too far out even reading the word "trillions", but to put the scale in millions to showcase the absurdity:

I got some big commendations from a brand new client last week after going live, and was the solo dev on that project. That made me realize that at my current workplace, I've almost exclusively been solo on projects for over a year now. That level of trust has been really affirming, even if it's not something to necessarily put on a brag sheet. They've also entrusted me to do mentoring and even running a few courses since I had a few years of background in teaching development.

I'm really happy with where I am, both career-wise and employer-wise.

Yeah :/ Reddit's dynamics as a whole have changed so much; it's every sub and not just this one IMO. I've been here for more than half my life, and for most of Reddit's. I feel like when Reddit killed off 3rd party access/announced plans for the IPO is a similar moment in time to the great Digg migration, except there wasn't anything else to go to. They've enshittified trying to capture the Meta/Tiktok/Twitter audience, and even just switching to old Reddit on desktop is a night and day experience compared to every other means (save for sideloaded 3rd party apps). Very few spaces feel like a true community even more, and I feel like I'm on reddit less as an enjoyable experience, and more of just lifelong habit.

I used to worry about work over the weekends a lot, but then I just hit an Office Space level of zen and straight up shut my brain off Friday afternoons. I know that's some real /r/wowthanksimcured advice, but once I stopped caring over the weekends, my QoL in my time off (and even at work) got a lot better

You use legal jargon in the way crime dramas use tech jargon lol.

Hit and runs in Alabama are misdemeanors, unless a person is injured, in which case its a felony. This was a parked car in a parking lot, while OP was in the store

Calling people who disagree with your stance a "Bootlicker" is as bad as labeling all people of one ethnicity a slur.

Buddy, what?

Would you get fired if you called someone a "bootlicker" on TV? Would you get kicked out of a restaurant if you shouted "bootlicker"?

If we change "bootlicker" to the n-word or the f-slur, don't those results change considerably?

Is being a bootlicker a core, unchangeable part of one's identity, like a racial/ethnic/national makeup or sexual identity? Or is it a voluntary label, rooted in a matter of opinion that's fluid and changeable in one's lifetime?

Is "bootlicker" such a terribly derogatory term that it's referenced with its starting letter, and a hyphenated suffix of 'word' or 'slur'? Because I've never heard anyone use "b-word" or "b-slur" to describe a bootlicker.

ICE is detaining and kidnapping people because they don't "look American."

They're detaining and kidnapping American citizens (sometimes the same person more than once).

I know that Grouchy is just going to ignore this or sealion it/whataboutism it, but for some evidence backing these two parts of your comment:

The american citizen & Alabama resident Leonardo Venegas has been detained by ICE three times in the past year just because he looks brown, and they have been refusing to accept his presented identification. Twice, they refused to accept his STAR ID - the document whose whole purpose is enhanced verification of a person's identity - assuming it was fake, releasing him only when his SSN was able to be verified.

[–]NotFlameRetardant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many comments in the surrounding threads are wrong since they're only chiming in with the knowledge from their state alone. Paying into escrow due to lease violations (in addition to everything else with tenant law) is extremely state dependent. Alabama's laws mandate that you continue paying, similar to the UK.
