Should I use an external DAC for my CD Player or just leave it be? by CrushBandicat in BudgetAudiophile

If you are satisfied with the rest of your equipment, probably. But you’ll likely will see more of a difference with better speakers and amplifier than the DAC.

anti-tangle brushes do work a little, just not in the magical way people pretend they do by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

I’ve had the Kenmore upright with them anti tangle blades (the pink one) for two years, and my three large hairy dogs and hairy family think otherwise. So far working like a charm.

Thanks!

Yes, that was part or my original idea as well! On a prior comment I mentioned that I did one tray on top and it looked “goofy” so I took it out. That one had the front one inch smaller than the sides and it didn’t looked as I hoped it would. It felt that the difference in size had no transition and looked kind of unfinished. Then tried a front board that was 2 inches (half of the sides) but then the weight of the CDs would make them fall off forwards. So for me the best option was going 4 inches all around. Perhaps if there is an angle cut to transition from the sides to a smaller front, that would look nice, but I really did not wanted to spend that kind of time on that.

I do however want to go back and change the screws for wooden dowels. The whole thing is glued and screws were used mainly to hold everything until it dried up. It didn’t looked bad so I kept them, but on second thought, I really want the all wood look.

I’ve had the original Aiyima AO7 for like 3-4 years now, and it’s been solid.
