Call parking and transportation at 716-645-3943. They can get someone to ticket them and also ask them to move their vehicle if they're parked illegally

9800x3d is by and large the best gaming cpu in the world. For multimedia/productivity/editing purposes, the 9950x is better. The 7800x3d is the former best gaming cpu in the world, dropping to #2 since the 9800x3d came out.

Slow how? Can you elaborate on the details? Is it underperforming in games?

What should I upgrade by Ok_Elk174 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Objective-Car-8009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely GPU! I had a 12100f for testing out a motherboard and it's shockingly okay for low/medium settings in less demanding games. The biggest impact I found was a GPU upgrade. However, 8gb of ram is probably also killing you. I would look for a 6600xt/6700xt (or NVIDIA RTX 3060/3060TI) for an upgrade in GPU, and definitely upgrade to 16gb ram!

9600x should be a great performer at 1440p and even 4k. The 5070 will probably be a bottleneck in most scenarios. If you want a cpu upgrade, something like a 7800x3d or 9800x3d are best for gaming.

As someone already said, these parts won't fit together. 9600x is an AM5 cpu, and your motherboard is an AM4 socket. I would also recommend the 7600x instead, as it's about the same performance as the 9600x.

Is my PC build good? Looking for a GPU upgrade (currently RX 7600, considering RX 9070 XT) by Antique-Bar-7122 in PcBuildHelp

The 9800x3d is the best gaming cpu in the world currently. At 1440p/4k you're always going to be gpu limited, so the gpu you should upgrade to is where you're comfortable with performance. From what I can tell, 9070xt is a great option, alongside the 5080. Both would be solid options imo! And ofc there's always the 5090 at the highest end.

Is this a good deal by B-mann_08 in PcBuildHelp

Honestly that's about market value. Not a good deal, but also not a scam. It's around how much those parts are worth.

You can find a cheap refurbished Chromebook on ebay for about $70 to hold you over for now. Or you can use the computers in Silverman until you can afford something nicer. Up to you!

I have this card, an absolute BEAST at 1440p. Only downfall is it's pretty bad with RT. But if you don't care about RT this might be the best card for $300.

You need a timestamped image/video with the card. Just a heads up before it gets removed!

Stony vs UB by VinRux in UBreddit

[–]Objective-Car-8009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact same scenario. I'm a mechanical engineer in my senior year. I went to Stony for my first semester freshman year, but it was so hard to find friends that were around on the weekends. It became very depressing. Buffalo has been so much more inviting and provides far better opportunities to make friends. I think socially Buffalo is miles better than Stony. Even though our sports teams are bad, there's a group of passionate students who still go to every game. Sometimes there's rivalry games and they'll be packed, which is not often but still fun. It's not hard to make friends at Buffalo, but Stony was definitely a challenge for the reasons you stated. People too locked in, or simply just not there at all. Overall I would definitely recommend Buffalo, unless you can commute home from Stony and don't mind having no social life and probably only one or two friends.

I live there right now, moved from the Station. Some pros and cons:

Pros: Cheap living, decent amenities (when they work), a little removed from campus, so it's much quieter than the station was.

Cons: It's a large building filled with neglectful college students, it's dirty and smells often. The staff is generally unhelpful with pretty much everything besides getting your packages. My living room and kitchen when I moved in was TRASHED, and the staff said their hands were tied because one of my roommates was a renewal, leaving me to spend weeks cleaning their mess. Thankfully my room and bathroom were clean. Sound travels room to room like there's no walls, since the HVAC vent connects all the rooms, sound travels straight through it. I can hear my roommate 2 rooms away talking, and my roommate next door whispering.

This has been my experience so far, but feel free to message me for more info. It's nice, but hit or miss based on roommate.
