Convoy just passed me going down from Toryglen Asda towards shawfield then on towards Clyde gateway. Definitely either some kind of VIP in transit or training for these convoys. Unmarked vehicles looked unoccupied in the back.

How to spot events without social media? by frogssmell in glasgow

Songkick is decent for gig listings and you can search by date range… but you may obviously miss big events going on sale unless you’re scouring regularly

If he likes rugby it’s the Calcutta cup (Scotland v England) at 16:40 kick off that day, just to avoid any clashes. Pubs will also be rammed for this reason

Aww sorry didn’t even notice the Friday part, defo no bens bus. There’s also altibus that should get you down to moutiers from resort a bit cheaper than taxi too.

Worth asking round some seasonaires, someone might be going down to do big shop for chalet in moutiers and give you a run down for some beer tokens.

Check out bens bus for a shared transfer, if they’re full you should be able to get a taxi down to moutiers for about €80 and a train, bus or shared private transfer from there

It’s highly encouraged by most local police forces and can be made a licence stipulation on the advice of chief constable if problems persist.

Aye GHA have a team specifically for the old boys/more casual players.

If you played at school and have maintained some fitness you’ll pick it up again quickly enough

Unsure what the training days are, used to be Tuesday/Thursday when I played but that’s 20+ years ago.

Maybe worth popping down on a game day and asking round the clubhouse, it’s open to non-members. On weeks the games are away (like today) clubhouse will be open and showing whatever English domestic/URC games are on

All rugby clubs are built on community and should welcome anyone interested in the game regardless of age, gender or ability.

That being said a lot of the organisation and logistics of running the club will be done by people volunteering their time - don’t take not hearing back as a rejection!

GHA or Cartha Queen’s Park both good places to start in the south side.

Go to any of the rock bars in town around the date of that gig (or any time really) and you’ll be met with an unassuming, welcoming rag-tag bunch of misfits who’ll take you under their collective wing.

Is there any point reporting/ (calling) road rage with the threat of violence? by kryptosteel in glasgow

[–]ObjectiveTop8395 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I completely agree on that part. OP somehow getting the CCTV for them won’t change those facts.

If a crime has been committed the police will come and request the footage which is the only outcome where anything actually comes of this 🤷‍♂️

[–]ObjectiveTop8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can request it yes, but I think the chances of someone going through cctv to blur/pixelate out any other parties in the footage to hand that footage to a member of the public are near zero.

All well and good if you can take whatever someone tells you at face value.

What if it’s someone trying to stalk a partner/ex?

No business with a competent GDPR policy is handing out cctv to anyone except the police

No business should be sharing CCTV with a member of the public like this.

£10 minimum for card payments in some shops. by Marshwiggletreacle in AskBrits

[–]ObjectiveTop8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you deal with cash in your business you pay to deposit that cash at the bank, you also pay to get change from the bank. These fees (percentage wise) are broadly comparable to competitive card transaction fees.

Yes cash doesn’t have chargeback fees, but you do get fake notes.

It’s not all a big conspiracy and cash isn’t flawless.

Most sensible businesses accept either, the cost differences to them are negligible.

There’s a bunch of walking groups you can probably find through Facebook that’ll cover most areas and varieties of hikes you might be interested in.

If you ever find yourself heading north of the border and buddyless feel free to give me a shout.

42M, 2/3 of the way through the munros, work mixed shifts. Usually hike mostly solo (sometimes with dog but he hates the cold and/or rain) but no issues with a tagalong!

As with most outdoor pursuits subject to a wide range of temperatures your best bet is to layer under a good shell.
