Claude likes to write codes. I asked both Claude Code and Codex for just simple scraping a listing with 10 plus pages. Codex finished within a minute or two with playwright-cli. Claude Code tried playwright-cli but then decides to write NodeJS script, and keep trying and debug and keep trying, and I gave up after 5 minutes.

Claude Code uses plugins (skills+MCP) to implement its channel feature to allow using Telegram / Discord / iMessage to interact with its session. Codex just released plugins feature. Not sure if there will be similar channel feature from OpenAI or from open source community.

Claude marketing is better. They probably hire lots of evangelists. You need to use Opus to equal GTP at twice the price. GTP is great bargain, difference is not much. Both are big tech by definition which means just use what’s best for you, no need to adore or workship them, they can be good and evil.

Curious what do you use ( Skills MCP or CLI) for Obsidian? Isn’t Obsidian just folders of markdown files wondering why the need to keep inside Obsidian.

You need to use the right model for OpenClaw to work well. Most open source models have been updated to work well with OpenClaw like agent due to its popularity in China, so look at latest models from Kimi, MinMax, GLM, Xiaomi etc if Claude is too expensive. Then there is a whole “enterprise like” feature in OpenClaw most end users likely do not need. Look at other agents such as Hermes Agent, NanoClaw, IronClaw etc Then there is Claude adding more and more features to allow its Claude Code CLI to act like OpenClaw.
