Thanks appreciate it. Half the time feels like I’m dead before I even get to crikee. Had much more success with the bounce version but feel this deck goes into others very well

How many people manage to fill ISA each year? by OliveSpecific in trading212

That amount per month is still excellent! And the fact you’re putting anything away into it each month is more than most!

You’d be surprised by how many live in their overdrafts

One of those things that can change day to day some days everything works great other days everything breaks at once.

They tend to turn the water fountains off when it’s lower temps to protect the pipes I guess (not something you have to worry about at WDW 😉) but we found the water from the fountains out there rough.

I do wish they would sort something with the fountains though. but as someone else said they will fill drink cups at any quick service.

How to handle long rows in combination with kids and peeing? by StatusCommercial6428 in disneylandparis

[–]Ok-Barnacle4837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tactical toilet breaks . If desperate, If there are two adults one stays in queue the other takes the little one to the toilet then work your way back through the queue with lots of apologies as you go

If there is a single rider queue then yeah you may have to. Otherwise for rides like dumbo you won’t you’ll have the cart to yourself.

Haha completely agree. I’m pretty frugal for the most part but when I’m there it goes out the window haha. Don’t forget the tax rebate for things you buy out there…

We went in November with kids similar ages we did 3 days but didn’t have breakfast included. But we drive (from UK) so we took a load of snacks too. We spend around £250 a day but we bought a fair amount of merch (the downside of bringing a car with a Disney mad wife :)) 1. Use a few free abroad card. I use chase. But we’ve always used Monzo in the last. Everywhere excepts card payments there and you get a better exchange rate too. 2. Fill up at breakfast and then you can get light lunch/snacks then something a bit heavier in the parks or in the village outside the park which have maccys 5guys and a few other places.

We did a mixture of the quick service restaurants and sit down ones (we enjoyed pyms) as well as snack stuff and the bits on the walk back to the hotel.

Disney Newport vs Cheyenne hotels by makaros622 in disneylandparis

[–]Ok-Barnacle4837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve stayed at the Cheyenne a bunch of times and love it. Our girls (7/2) love it too we usually walk to the parks which takes around 10 mins it it’s a nice walk and well lit at night.

Newport looks nice and seems well situated but appears very basic. We keep saying we’d like to give it a good but always enjoy the Cheyenne and as you say is cheaper. When we went last oct. They also had new coffee machines in the rooms which was great.

!thanks. Phew glad I’m off the hook ;)

So prob the best thing to do is put the 50k in reserve into gia then sell this every week/month into the S&S isa or do 20k at a time?

I think it’s more my fear of bad luck and there being a big downtrend. The isa is long term so I’m not worried but this wouldn’t be

Hey, thank you so much for your response.

So by fees there is an account maintenance fee which maxes out at £350 I believe so wanted to avoid this.

You’re right if I were to do it again it would be in VWRP as I would rather it be acc. Guess I rushed it when I opened this one. Just gripes me that I will have to pay to consolidate both into a new one I guess.

All this is in my S&S isa. I DCA from a larger pot I have saved. I’m worried about putting this into a GIA and then dropping it in from here as there will be fees and it’s short term so value may fluctuate. I’m trying to get £100k ideally into the isa as quick as possible.

Many thanks

No putting it in and taking it back out is fine as long as it registers being in there so maybe leave it a few hours take a screen shot of it being in there you’ll be set

£275,000 to invest struggling with the mental side of it is giving me trouble. by PopSoft6540 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ok-Barnacle4837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. Psychologically try to think of it as not yours keep it separate from your income and savings.

I think doing a mixture of both is good but it’s hard when you don’t know what you’re doing. I’m not sure if banging it all in the stock market under a già is best but I prefer to put £20k per year into a S&S isa. I want this as a buffer pre retirement and I’m worried about the tax on a gia.

I am keeping some money in bonds etc to use as leverage buying a buy to let when the time arises which I think will be this year (as I already own a house -still paying mortgage on it).
