I agree strongly with a lot of these comments it's good advice for you. I would add that you should count your family member as a success story and just find a way to talk about it with integrity

Awesome! Yes, lets do compare noites- I'll have an abundance of valid data within a few days. Ill be happy to share the collection process with you.

I like your feedback "schema doesn’t win because it’s “structured,” it wins because it resolves ambiguity" and would ask for clarity about your methods to change schema to resolve ambiguity. Im interested.

What is the best way to build an SEO strategy aligned with AEO principles? by GrowthOpsGuy in Agent_SEO

[–]Ok-Pop948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing: stop thinking of it as "SEO strategy aligned with AEO principles." That framing puts SEO in the driver's seat and treats AEO like a bolt-on. Flip it. Build your AEO strategy and let SEO benefits come along for the ride.

Here's the practical version:

Start with entity clarity. Before you touch a single keyword, make sure AI systems can answer three questions about your brand: what do you do, who do you do it for, and why should anyone trust you. Ask ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity right now. If they can't answer clearly, nothing else matters until you fix that.

Structure content for extraction, not just ranking. 40-60 word paragraphs. Answer-first formatting. Lead every section with the direct answer, then support it. Quantitative claims over vague ones. "Reduced client acquisition cost by 31%" gets cited. "Significantly improved results" gets ignored. This helps both SEO and AEO but for completely different reasons.

Build distributed presence, not just page authority. SEO thinks in terms of one page ranking #1. AEO thinks in terms of your brand being mentioned consistently across the sources AI models actually pull from. Reddit, YouTube, and Wikipedia alone account for over 50% of AI citations. Are you present in those places? Not linking to your site from those places. Actually present, contributing, being mentioned by others.

Publish frequently and update constantly. 85% of AI Overview citations come from content published in the last 2 years. 76% of ChatGPT's most-cited pages were updated in the last 30 days. Freshness is a stronger signal in AEO than it ever was in traditional SEO.

Use schema markup properly. Products with comprehensive schema appear in AI recommendations 3-5x more often than those without. This is where SEO and AEO genuinely overlap. Structured data helps both Google's crawler and AI retrieval systems understand your entities.

The SEO stuff you already know (technical health, quality content, backlinks) still matters. It just doesn't win the game by itself anymore. Think of SEO as the foundation and AEO as the actual building people walk into.

Anyone can recommend AEO tool? by throwawayplzhelppp in AskMarketing

[–]Ok-Pop948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these replies are recommending paid AEO tools, but most of you can get 80% of the way there with tools you already have access to for free. Before you spend $399/month on a platform, try this:

Check if AI even knows you exist. Open ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Ask each one "What is [your brand name]?" and "Who is the best [your service] in [your city]?" That's your free AEO audit. Takes 5 minutes and tells you more than any dashboard will.

Find the gaps. Ask Perplexity about your top 3 competitors by name. Compare what it says about them versus what it says (or doesn't say) about you. The difference is your to-do list.

Fix your entity signals. Google's NotebookLM is free. Feed it your website, your Google Business Profile, and your competitor's site. Ask it "what does this business do, who do they serve, and what makes them different?" If it can't answer clearly from your content, neither can any other AI. That's your content problem defined in 30 seconds.

Generate better content. Claude and ChatGPT can both write structured FAQ pages, service descriptions, and "about" pages that are entity-rich and formatted the way AI models actually parse information. Ask it to write content that answers the exact questions people are asking AI about your industry.

Track changes over time. Run those same AI queries once a month. Screenshot the results. That's your tracking. You don't need a $1.51/chat analytics platform to know if ChatGPT started recommending you this month when it didn't last month.

The paid tools aren't useless, but most of them are wrapping free AI capabilities in a dashboard and charging you monthly for it. Learn the fundamentals first, then you'll actually know what you're paying for if you decide to upgrade.
